Absolutely unbelievable that someone lost their life arguing about what type of hat someone was wearing. What a world.

I grew up in Brigantine as a Yankees fan. I constantly got, "what? Did you grow up in New York?" I would look at them like they were nuts and say, no, but I didn't grow up in Philadelphia either. Add to that, Phillies games were on Prism which was a pay channel, and the Yankees were on channel 11 for free.

I learned to have a healthy dislike for any citizen of Philadelphia the way they would come in to town like they owned the place. Loud, throwing trash everywhere, double parking in the middle of the street, and acting like they were in east Philly. Starting fights on the beach, in the bars, disturbing the neighbors at all hours of the night.

Add to that their stupid hoagies. They are called Subs here bumhole.

Sounds to me like you have a Brigantine problem and not a Philly problem.

As someone that is from Philly, I don't appreciate your characterization. There will always be idiots, regardless of what place they call home. Submarines are naval vessels, not sandwiches. At least the etymology of the word "hoagie" makes sense!

Typical Philly "our way is the right way everyone else is wrong" attitude. Thanks for making my point.

i've always looked at people who live at the shore as living in their own little bubble. They don't really know.

Interestingly I have always seen people from Philly exactly the same way. No place exists outside the city.

NYC is worse. But they don't frequent the area as often. They tend to stay up central jersey and above.

GOD forbid they meet each other, us locals end up feeling like Belgium...

I think your mostly-irrational hatred for people from Philly is blinding you from realizing that people can and do often say the same thing about the people of (insert any city here).

No, its pretty much Philly. People from Baltimore, Boston, Washington etc, all seem to understand that there are different cultures and ways of doing/saying things around the country. And that there is a world outside the city limits. Philly, not so much.

The Philly/South Jersey accent is way worse than the NYC accent.

i think you just must have been inappropriately touched by a teacher who was from philly when you were a child.

i don't see nearly the type of narrow life perspective you are talking about.

I don't care who gets (frank)ed as long as it is either Pittsburgh or Detroit. It would be nicest if they could both get bent and Carolina could sneak in after Philly.

i would love that, but obviously getting in is what matters.
