poop if this happens I would go harder at Hall than I would at Stamkos. - Der Kaiser
Nope - you'd have to give up serious assets for Hall, nothing for Stamkos

You get Ristolainens' partner in a trade which includes your Top 5-10 pick, Lindholm, Shattenkirk, Ect. Then Go hard for Stamkos In free agency, If you can land a player of his caliber in FA you go for it, Worry about the cap in two years. ASSUMING We land him, A BIG IF.
Kane-Eichel-Reinhart
ROR-Stamkos-Ennis?
Risto - Lindholm
Lehner
Your Key Core players In place Top 6, Top 2 D and your #1 Goalie, You're ready to make a push.

Agreed - only piece that doesn't fit is shattenkirk, as he shoots right. Dream offseason for me:
Win lottery pick #2: take Laine
Sign Stamkos
Trade with Ana for Fowler - Girgs and the pick back that they sent us for Mcginn??

I don't doubt your source 89, but I just don't see us allocating our resources to Yandle. I think there will be a ton of teams in in him, he'll get overpaid, and probably has little or.no.interest in BUF. I think we spend our $$ on forwards and draft one of the big 3 LHDmen. Maybe trade for a dman too? - turbo044
I would agree with you and from what I was told the interest was just that, they had interest but not enough to get into a bidding war. I think they were trying to get him before that happened. |

If they do trade for a young Defenseman, Which one do you think Murray would target? Lindholm, Shattenkirk, Fowler? I would hate to see them overpay for anybody in Free Agency other then Stamkos. |

My guess is somebody other than those 3; Lindholm would be too pricey, Fowler isn't all that good and shattenkirk is a righty. So it's probably someone we haven't even discussed. Gorges was not on anyone's radar 2 years ago, for instance |

All top pairing d-men available will be too pricey. We will have to overpay to some extent either to convince the team to move the player or because we're in a bidding war. |

If there's a veteran out there with 2-3 years of term left, that would be ideal. He would help stabilize Ritso a bit and bold the fort until someone like Guhle is ready. A Nick Leddy like trade. I think they're very high on Guhle but he's probably a story for 2018, possibly 2017 |

I know a LHD is a priority and IMO I would go for Jake Muzzin from the Kings. 4 mill a year with a good contract and the Kings need to keep Lucic. |

Id be all over this, hard sell getting the kings to give up muzzin. He does for Doughty what I think Lindholm could do for Risto. |

This is incredibly risky though. The vet you bring in may not have enough in the tank to be a top pairing guy, would just be a better version of what Gorges is now. And doing that because you're betting on guhle being the top pairing guy by 2017/2018 is a reach imo. I would just overpay now, give yourself a great top pair for a long time. |

No ones giving up a top 10 pick for Lindholm. Unless that comes with Ritchie or Montour your thinking way to much of Lindholm. - Jammerz04
You're right, no one gives up a top 10 pick for lindholm, because it will take more to get him. In all likelihood he's not available except for a hefty overpayment. |

Interestingly Hockey prospects has CHYCHRUN ranked 9th and 3rd among defenceman. Conversely they have DUBOIS 4th over TKACHUK 5th |

If your talking Nash, then no. I don't even think he's popped into GMTM's head.
Stamkos isn't plan A either IMO. I don't see why he would be. He's a center. We've already got Girgs, Eichel, Reinhart, ROR, Larsson and a little bit in Ennis. At some point we will have to get another top flight winger.
I think Murray tries to get Okposo or Eriksson. I think he'll make a pitch for Hoffman. - Jammerz04

I said that a couple days ago actually
Now that I think about it though...
Would be hard to fit him & Stamkos
U less we could somehow get rid of Moulson's contract
Gionta might have to be moved as well, especially if we'd be adding a good defenseman not on an ELC
A top line of Hall-Eichel-Stamkos would be pretty mind blowing
Then we have Kane-O'Reilly-Reinhart
and with a 3rd line something like
Girgensons-Larsson-Ennis
-might not be able to keep Ennis though if we can't move Moulson & Gionta...
So then we're looking at possibly Foligno, Bailey or Fasching on the 3rd line
This should be a very interesting offseason for us

I hope we don't trade Girgensons
Doubt we'd get much value for him at all
I don't wanna "sell low" on guys like him or Ennis or Pysyk
Those guys have all had success to the point where I think we would see them have nice bounce back years next season
Then maybe we move them when their trade value would presumably be more accurate to their talent level |

I'd still be happy if we took Chychrun 5th
Although I'd be even happier if we traded that pick for a LH defenseman who's around the same development point as Risto...
Maybe a year or 2 more advanced
But if we get "stuck" with Chychrun, I don't think it's all that bad
He should end up being very good in time |

Move Ennis and Franson you can make it work.
I don't think Moulson is going anywhere - Stripes77
At this point...
I'd MUCH rather have Ennis than Nash
I'm willing to write this year off for Ennis
He's probably been our best player in the previous 3 seasons
Maybe if Nash was younger... But he's 2 years & done
If Ennis gets back to previous form, he could be here another 10years
And I'm not even sure Nash would outproduce Ennis?
Plus...
Why do we wanna get SLOWER?!
Speed has been one of our weaknesses this season
Only way I want Nash is if they keep half his salary & it for nothing more than a 3rd & average prospect (someone like Carrier)
And... We get rid of Moulson somehow
Can't have both those contracts here at the same time
