How's your wife, and my kids?
- YuenglingJagr

Well you got a great chance to be a hero here. Two on, two out, hope you don't blow it. I saw your wife last night in the lounge, great dancer btw. Now I'm sure that guy she was dancing with is a close personal family friend, but what was he doing with her panties on his head?

Oh I don't think this has the distance...

You can look at it like that. But in all actuality he stole 1 point that should have been 0
- Just5

well true in the sense that they didn't deserve that game at all but they had 2 points in their pocket. oh well, at least they got the 1 and are in a playoff spot for now.

The best "mean guy HR hitter" in movies was definitely the Enforcer dude turned good guy from Revenge of the Nerds in Rookie of the Year.

This is the worst loss in years. At least they got the loser point. They can't keep their head in the sand and pretend that the shootout doesn't exist. Cause its going to be the reason they are watching the playoffs on tv this year.
- Flyers1218

How about not putting their heads in the sand and figuring out not to look like panicked gerbils playing 5 on 6? How many times have they ended up in overtime due to an ENG?

the Mason blame drives me crazy. its ridiculous. Neuvirth could give up 5 goals and lose a game and its just one of those games. Mason stops 51 shots, 4 more in the SO and loses the game and its his fault. its been going on all season. Stupid. is it just more or does Mason always seem to be better when he is THE guy?
- nastyflyergirl

I don't get it. It's the lazy narrative. Flyers lose = Mason's fault. Absolutely mindless.

Absolutely brutal loss, although they didn't play well enough to win the game, they were in a position to get 2 points. Frustrating. Hopefully it doesn't linger into Thursday.

I think he thrives on more work personally. A lot of tenders will tell you that consistent work like this allows them to get into the zone. Mase was certainly there last night.. I still can't believe he made several saves in OT, then stopped the first 4 shootout attempts and none of our shooters could pot even 1 goal. Just plain awful.

Thanks Bill. Painful game to watch. Again, the last five minutes of a period collapse, against a weaker team. Sorry, Mase for the wasted effort. And just when you start to believe in the team's ability to win, they pull the carpet out from under us. "Just kidding," they say, "We want to play golf this summer, party, and endure another stressful draft day to see who stays, and who goes." I love the Flyers, but they keep doing the same thing year after year. I hope that they can draft some more forwards, and start weeding out some of the "40 minute" players. Oh, and what happened to the PP? Our PK used to be the weak point, and now it's the PP.

Apparently Duchene and MacKinnon are out for the Avs. No excuses in that one. The Avs have been playing great, but if they are truly a playoff team, they will come out and play a solid game to get the 2 pts.

I'm hoping the don't sleepwalk into another Colorado game. The one here was brutal. No one that wears an orange and black sweater showed up that game and they got whacked by a score of 4-0.

I think teams are figuring out our PP. last week or two, I've noticed teams giving a lot more pressure solely on Ghost and G and that's been having a domino effect on the rest of it. I thought having Jake back would better things, but it just has looked so sloppy. G and Ghost are not getting the usual space they would get before.

Simmonds should never have iced the puck. Skate it to center ice and take the shot or pass it forward. NEVER TAKE THAT SHOT.

Real tough ending to a game they should have had locked up even though they got outplayed for much of it. Simmonds shrugging and giving a nonchalant look after icing a line drive from one end of the ice to the other was a bit baffling. Ryan White continues to surprise. Need Jake to knock the rust off soon. Why no Ghost or Read in the shootout? Schenn? Ugh. Couts? Ugh.

True.

But in September, most of us pretty much expected to be playing out the string now, trying to follow draft prospects and wonder if they were going to make a splash.

Now they have a competitive team battling for a playoff berth, they cleared a couple of potential cap headaches, have a load of talent in the system and young talent chipping in on the NHL level, a coach who seems to be as on the ball as any they have had in years.

For me, it's the excitement of things, rather than the resignation of a rbuild

- Jsaquella

Watching them early in the season was brutal. And thinking about paying for that all year was depressing. Then Gost came, and it was exciting and gave hope for the future. Now they're playing well many nights and giving themselves a chance to win most nights and that is well worth paying for, playoffs this year or not. My pockets would prefer no playoffs. My heart says bring them on. And I don't think it would be bad for Gost, Scotty, Cousins, and Manning to experience playoff hockey.

when you have a 2-0 lead with a few mins left in the game and a PP and lose the game......well, I can't even come up with words. Mason stole 1 point that should have been 2. 51 shots against? sheesh.
- nastyflyergirl

I'm still by baffled what Simmonds was thinking. He had the time and space to take a slap shot from his own zone and that's the decision he makes? He needs to make up for it the next 10 games.
