not sure what people expected him to do on the first goal. great deflection and probably one that shouldn't have counted. the second one was a cluster (frank) and he had no help at all. box a guy out, knock them down, tie them up.....hell tackle them if you have to. its so damn ridiculous its 5 on 5 with an empty net and they didn't have anyone tied up in front. then he stops 4 in a row in the SO..........but hey lets blame Mason. - nastyflyergirl
Seriously, that second goal looked like a pregame warm up drill. Three Jackets standing around the net, all closer than any Flyer.

Mason made some huge saves in OT as well. I believe it was 6 on 5 for the tying goal but I agree, why not take a penalty if you have to. There is 10 seconds left.

I'm shocked we haven't seen a picture of Ghost's diving play photoshopped cape on him yet. That play was sick and again our hero Simmonds choked the wide open shot.

Shame he couldn't have lifted the puck, but that was a great save by Bob.
Ive heard rumblings that WIP callers don't know what they are talking about and should be ignored. I know this is big news, but is it true? - YuenglingJagr
Department of Safety will review the Boll hit on PEB tomorrow.
Torts must be about to lose it! - dragonoffrost
The comments from Torts after the game tells me that Torts has no idea what the rules are, with respect to that sort of hit. It was predatory and late. And Boll has recent disciplinary history.
Watching them early in the season was brutal. And thinking about paying for that all year was depressing. Then Gost came, and it was exciting and gave hope for the future. Now they're playing well many nights and giving themselves a chance to win most nights and that is well worth paying for, playoffs this year or not. My pockets would prefer no playoffs. My heart says bring them on. And I don't think it would be bad for Gost, Scotty, Cousins, and Manning to experience playoff hockey. - bodiva88
People wonder why I am so eager for them to make it to the dance this year when they won't win it, and could have had a lottery pick. Biggest reason, is the development of the kids. Although it will likely be a tough learning experience in the playoffs, it will expedite the rebuild. Making the top eight validates Hexy's plan in that he sees the core as being solid.

I hope it will but it's no guarantee. A young calgary team couldn't do much with the playoff experience they got last year.

Good point. And a rebuilding Edmonton team has a squad full of high lottery picks accumulated over the last 10 years and continues to struggle. Never any guarantees, but teams have to begin to move forward at some point.

that's the same reason i want them in. of course there's the 0.00000287% chance they could actually win it, so there's that.
