Good point. And a rebuilding Edmonton team has a squad full of high lottery picks accumulated over the last 10 years and continues to struggle. Never any guarantees, but teams have to begin to move forward at some point. - Hextall271

that's the same reason i want them in. of course there's the 0.00000287% chance they could actually win it, so there's that. - hammarby31
- Mason plays to 2013/14 Game 7 level every game
- Ovechkin and Backstrom out with butt surgery
- Rangers'/Penguins' players all get the 336-hour flu
- (insert how the win against the Atlantic)
- Kings and Dallas murder each other (literally) in the WCF. |

I hope it will but it's no guarantee. A young calgary team couldn't do much with the playoff experience they got last year. - Just5

Well, if you are the Oilers or Leafs, then you have to take a couple steps back in order to...um .. continue to take steps backwards. |

We just gotta buckle down, dig deep, and pray that maybe the other team comes down with cancer.

Yeah, they rode that high shooting percentage and decent goaltending straight towards regression. |

considering where they are if they miss the playoffs they would most likely have the best record of a non playoff team. So we are talking about one draft position. I highly doubt they would get lucky enough to get a top 3 pick in the lottery. So that said why not want to see them get in even if they are swept out? |

Interesting read. I guess we should say goodbye to Raffl. - MBFlyerfan
I think they have the eligibility rule wrong. I thought it was 1st year and 2nd year pros are exempt. Not players who have played less than 2 seasons. I don't really see Raffl going unprotected unless he is severely outplayed by Cousins, Read and/ or Laughton next year.
If players who have completed 2 full pro seasons are eligible, The Flyers will have an interesting decision to be made between Del Zotto, Gudas and Morin.

I will never watch another hockey game if they put advertising on jerseys. (i.e., the Devils will only have 3 fans left then ) - Crushers68

I'm shocked we haven't seen a picture of Ghost's diving play photoshopped cape on him yet. That play was sick and again our hero Simmonds choked the wide open shot. - dragonoffrost

The Flyers have a winning record in the shootout in one of the eleven seasons since it was introduced.
Guess the year. |
