Guys like Ghost, Cousins, Laughton, even Manning will know what it takes to succeed regularly in the NHL.
We got rid of bad contracts.
To me, the biggest crime, is that Claude Giroux has raised his game this year (again) and he's gonna get ignored for World Cup. - johndewar
With regard to your last point, if they leave him off the team, I am boycotting the World cup. He's one of the top players in Canada and although he proved it at the WC last may (in fact he proved he can step up in a Gold medal game just like Cindy), that means nothing.
I like how the looks 5 on 5 and I'll give that credit to the coach because the players have had issues supporting one another in the past. However, with roughly 7 minutes left in the game, up 2 goals and on the power play, the Coach decides to become too cautious by removing Jake and adding Streit in his place, the Coach should be looking to end the game during an offensive opportunity. We should have barried them there. Schenn and Couturier ahead of Simmonds and Voracek in the shootout isn't good. Also Hakstol was too slow to get the right guys on to the ice for the 3 minute Power Play. With White coming out of the box and guys like Cousins and Gagner already on the ice, things were already jumbled the moment the PP began, which led to a slow start on the man advantage. - SuperSchennBros
I definitely would prefer just using the usual power play guys

Same. And that final power play, Streit had the puck in a good scoring position in Jake's spot that he didn't take advantage of. When in reality, Jake could have scored there with the better shot and sealed the game

I know that we have limited options, but having Streit out to help protect a lead late is horrible. He's just flat-out bad. I've banged on Schultz most of the year, but right now, I'd rather have Schultz and AMac out there late.
I did not watch the game, but any goalie giving up only 2 goals on 53 shots played a hell of a game whether they win or lose. - Streit2ThePoint
Agreed. But some people said he couldn't make a big save at the end?? WTF? Maybe the team should have played the last 2 mins more intelligently? Easy to blame the tender I guess.

In his defense...shots over the net usually arent very dangerous

Who would have thought Del Zotto would have become this important to the team. Sucks because he changed his game to be a more all around defenseman and I was really becoming impressed with his play.

I would rather see them lose in OT then the shoot-out. At least that would be from team play. I find it hard to believe that 5 shooters could not beat a goalie at least once.
Bob's shoot-out record is 18-13, most of those came with the Jackets. What is with the Flyers and this skills competition?
Have I mentioned I hate shoot-outs?
Go back months ago, when the Flyers were 12 seconds from beating the Rangers in regulation. They give up the tying goal and lose in a SO.
Game against the Leafs last month, lose the game in the waning seconds, lose a point for a reg tie.
Last nights game. That's 3 points that if secured could have them in the top wild card spot pushing Pitt and the Rags for 2nd and 3rd place in the division.

One thing have noticed, and maybe because it happened twice this week, but when pucks are close in on Mason he doesn't seem to be able to cover the puck quickly or gets a little small in net.
Not saying Mason is to blame at all. Just an observation from watching.
