I would rather see them lose in OT then the shoot-out. At least that would be from team play. I find it hard to believe that 5 shooters could not beat a goalie at least once.

Bob's shoot-out record is 18-13, most of those came with the Jackets. What is with the Flyers and this skills competition?

Have I mentioned I hate shoot-outs?

Go back months ago, when the Flyers were 12 seconds from beating the Rangers in regulation. They give up the tying goal and lose in a SO.

Game against the Leafs last month, lose the game in the waning seconds, lose a point for a reg tie.

Last nights game. That's 3 points that if secured could have them in the top wild card spot pushing Pitt and the Rags for 2nd and 3rd place in the division.

"This is where Cameron goes berserk"...

Bob is actually one of the better shootout goalies in the NHL...but anyway...yeah shootouts suck and there are several points throughout the season where points are lost...that kind of happens with several teams though. At least they didnt lose points in a game they played better than the other team

Guy called up 94.1 WIP this morning. Wanted to talk to Al to see if there was a way the Flyers could put in a different goalie for the shoot outs.

You know, cause they would have one if they had anyone else in there, the Flyers shooters would magically begin to score.

Shame Cousins' didn't go in. He beat Bobrovsky clean. Just slid it wide.

I normally love Simmonds play but last night the icing was a very selfish play. Also after he did it he had this "ho hum" look. Now I know they should still win but I thought that was piss poor attitude coming from someone who is a team leader.

Again I know that one play didn't cost the game. Just didn't like the play or the reaction after.

Absolutely.

Haha not naming any names. Last night was just hilarious though. Mase got us a point and back into a playoff spot, and noone should be critical of him.

Let's be honest, they deserved to lose that game anyway.

There's no way they can give up 52 shots in a game. That's inexcusable.

right when he made that face I just had the feeling they would score at least 1 goal Bc we were acting like the game had already ended. We play too safe when we have leads in the game. Heck even the PP Simmonds drew for that slash... We put Streit out there when imo Jake should have been on. I rather push for that 3rd goal than sit back and let the team have their way. It happened against Detroit and Chicago and we walked away with a win.
- arichardson22

I didn't realize you guys already covered this. This loss makes me sick because we did lose and it was our game for the taking against a weaker opponent.

Real tough ending to a game they should have had locked up even though they got outplayed for much of it. Simmonds shrugging and giving a nonchalant look after icing a line drive from one end of the ice to the other was a bit baffling. Ryan White continues to surprise. Need Jake to knock the rust off soon. Why no Ghost or Read in the shootout? Schenn? Ugh. Couts? Ugh.

I'm sad in advance for what the NHL will soon do.

I love Ryan White. He's a limited player but he excites me a lot more than his counterparts Bellemare and Vandevelde. White really takes a lot of poop around here.

What I think is hilarious is that although it was the second of a back to back, it was (frank)ing Columbus for God's sake..

Not disagreeing. My point was, if my memory serves me right, was that he didn't have a great record when he was with the Flyers. My point being that it is just maddening how the team can be this bad in SO year after year, with different coaches and players.

Side note, Ghost's athleticism is off the charts good. That keep at the point in OT was awesome. If only Simmonds could have finished it off. Was a great save by Bob though.

I've thought about this too. Before last night Masons been absolutely wretched at it. Some goalies are just better at it. Some good goalies are bad at it. Just like skaters in the shootout. Marginal players can be great at the shootout.

Agreed. White busts his ass every game and it's good to see him get rewarded with some goals, especially on the 2nd pp unit when the 1st isn't tallying. He's an excellent role player who will defend his team and drop em when he has to . I wonder what he's looking for in his next contract?

That whole sequence by Ghost was a thing of beauty. Not only does he turn into superman and save the puck, but he makes a sweet little fake pass to Jake and all in one motion sends it over to Simmer. By making the little fake he literally made the defenseman fall over which allowed the pass to make it through.

You switch goalies for the SO (unless due to injury) you're looking for groin pulls galore. I think it would be suicide to switch to a guy who's been sitting on the bench for over 2 hours.

Simmonds could've made Ghost's play one of the greatest of all time if he just lifted the puck

Most of it is a head game. When you know that you cant let up a single goal in a shoot out that puts some serious pressure on you. We are the third worst team in the league at scoring. 6 for 30.

I also still cant believe Read didnt put that puck in the net. He had Bob dead to rights.. Could have scored about 12 different ways, and instead puts it over the net by about 2 feet. Holy hacksaw..

C# and Java... but I was hired as a DBA

So yeah, I'm already looking elsewhere for work. I'm not dealing with their mass exodus poop. One of the two technical managers gave his 2 week notice yesterday, and the other one is trying to get out too.
