I'm willing to bet that had it been Gaunce or Etem making that hit and Hank called him out, no one would be saying that player was being unfairly treated.
- belcherbd

I don't know about unfair or not, I simply think to call out a teammate or comment on a teammate like that in the media... well I guess if anyone knows it's the right move, it's Sedin. This is probably getting a little far here though, I think Dbot may be right:this is a molehill boys.

That wouldnt suprise me if that actually was the case, no coincidence that DSedins goals are way up and Vrbatas way down
- phyllee

So Vrbata was the beneficiary of having both Daniel and Henrik setting him up last season. If Vrbata could have generated any offence with any other linemates, they would have been a much more balanced team. But it turns out he either couldn't or chose not to do enough in a secondary role. If he resents coaching or the Sedins for not getting to play with them other than on the power play, he's not very professional is he?

In hindsight JB should have traded Vrbata last summer. But to do that he would've had to know that Vrbata wouldn't contribute anything at all on the second line this year. He also would have had to be willing to risk alienating future high-profile free agents by letting the market know he wasn't opposed to jettison them after only one successful year.

I don't remember Hank calling Prusts cup check on Marchand dirty or late

I agree, he didn't but he should of.

I never hear about issues like that with other teams with young players like the Flames Yotes AVs Blues .

We don't know what goes on behind closed doors. I do know Lefty posted an article about two weeks back about the Sedins not being happy with JM or JV.

Eyebrows did raise on here a week ago when Hank commented on the hit , and again today when JV responded.

Same as eyebrows raised last year with Vrbata. Again we don't know what goes on but we will speculate

This wouldnt surprise me. I think away from the rink, the Sedin's are busy with their families and not interested in making sure the young guns dont show up with the Roxy flu (I think thats what the article you are referring to alluded to). At the rink, they are probably great mentors, gym/video/etc., but I cant see them being as patient with them over that behavior, and it was likely a call to the team about being professionals. "Showing up every single night/shift" is basically their post-game comments on repeat and that subtle approach hadnt worked up till then

Vrbata doesn't pass to anyone, he just shoots. Criticism from him about passing is pretty funny.

Being a vet might of had something to do with it, its one thing calling out a young guy. Sedins called out Kassian as well by the way and I don't remember you being upset about that?

How did you feel about Duchene being called out by Roy?

I keep wanting to step away but you have a real knack for driving discussion.

That's because it was 5 years too late. Statute of limitations.

I really wanted Duchesne to walk up to Roy and whisper in his ear "this is the last game I've played for this organization"

There's a similar underlying theme between Roy's comments and H.'s comments. They're just saying your actions need to be about the team first and your own agenda second. Don't know why that would be considered controversial in either case.

That's so 2011. How about Vrbata, Hamhuis, Prust, Higgins, Burrows, Weber, Vey, Bartkowski, Kenins, and a 6th for Duchene and a 7th?
