I am usually a half glass full kind of guy but I have this sick feeling in my stomach that Boeser will choose to be a UFA. (I sure hope i'm wrong) I know we have lots of time to debate this (rumor has it he wants to turn pro next season) I watched the game last night. Brock is just amazing.
Sure hope Demko signs soon. |

Yep.
If he wants to be a pro and yet does not want to be a long term Nuck, his best option would be to join the team as soon as possible to hit free agency as soon as possible.
Kid just won the championship, owned the league and captured a few records along the way. What more can he accomplish at that level? Seems like a gamer, an arrogant one at that, thus i have the feeling that he views the NCAA as being below him now

I'm cool with that attitude as long as it pushes him to be better!

I wonder if the canucks will open Rogers and hold a big draft lottery party like the oilers did. Might as well try and sell a few more $7 hotdogs. |

A glass empty guy would say that Benning decides not to sign Boeser thinking he's not ready yet and as a result his teammates cagguila and stecher decide to sign elsewhere.
I say he signs and his two buddies join and will all be with the comets next year |

Burrows was always a favourite, but time has caught up . It is time to say goodbye . Same with Hamhuis.
the team proved how boring it was down the stretch aside from 3 games. It is time for a makeover. |

People on here talk a lot about the team's young players being mentored by the vets. IMO, the best way a vet can mentor a young player is to lead by example.
WD has already publicly stated that Burrows is a true mentor by the way he prepares for a game and how he gives everything on the ice even though he could easily have been on the IRL.
I don't know, but if the next three years are meaningless in regards to cap hit and standing results then don't fans want some true mentorship in the room? |

Just a stupid post. Why in the (frank) would Boeser play against kids for another 3 years? He owned it this year. Not your post |

If that's true, that's why Benning's a (frank)ing moron.
I can't wait to watch that mother (frank)er sit on that draft lottery panel, looking uncomfortably sweaty, waiting to see how the canuck fair.
Hope they don't stick Trevor up there. |

You only need so many mentors. It doesn't take half a team to mentor the other half.
Sedins Edler Tanev Hansen Sutter. 5 players right there that can mentor rookies.
Secondly the guys you bring in at UFA also will have experience .
Thirdly you can already see Bo stepping in to a leadership role. |

Beware of fools gold , but Bo and Etem looked good together coming down the stretch. It is worth taking a second look at next year maybe with Rodin or Hansen on the right side |

He said in a recent interview the playoffs are the goal for every team at the beginning of every year, or they should be, or what's the point in being a GM, much like Lou Lamoriello is nothing but a puppet GM.
He said he has no current aspirations of winning a Cup any time soon, but to ice a competitive team. I think some misconstrue the concept of the phrase "making the playoffs". |

Yes, no gm would say we don't want to make the playoffs this year .. we are just going to coast it. Saying we want to make the play offs and icing a play off capable team are two totally different things. They know a rebuild is here with the canucks, they aren't stupid. Fans need to be patient. |

Really? How so?
I agree Hansen seems like a good candidate but I think it would be a stretch to think Edler, Tanev, or Sutter can be looked upon as team leaders. Edler has to be shielded from the media because he's too shy. WTF? Tanev is still developing into being a consistent player. Sutter's 27, been on 3 teams, and to is still finding his game.
Not trying to be negative or being argumentative but I see Burrows as an OK fit for one more season and then send him off to a respectful end. |

As long as he drafts well, that's the lifeline of any and all NHL franchises....when he's canned the next guy can fill in the blanks. |
