Okay so build with in, build through draft, smart. So to me, the first order of business is to sign our Rfa players. Mackinnon & Picks should be locks. 1st line center and future goalie should be a done deal there. Now barrie is interesting. For me, you sign him, but at a good rate, love the offense, that fits well with our team speed and dynamic BUT defense he needs to be solid at too, if that means getting him a new partner, then do it. I would like to see beauch with him to start the year then graduate zads to that spot. Then comes ahl players, like hishon and siemens. I would like to see both get a shot, it's a last shot but I think siemens could be a third pair d in a shut down role. Hishon I think could be okay on the third line in a Comeau role, but that means moving Comeau down to forth line which I'm okay with. Also sign Agizzino. He looked okay, and could be a superise. After those signing look to grigs, Compher and Mathias. Compher will likely start in the ahl, Mathias third line. Then look at signing rav. I'm nervous about his off ice character but sign him for a year, Roy should smarten him up.
@coga@Musick "what is love? Dutchy and rav on a line"
@other guy iggy 4th line
Yes. I think on how this team is built and the need for younger players like rantanen, grigs and possibly compher in the line up next year, iggy will be a main stay on third line (with soderberg and comeau) or forth (with Cody mack and who ever) but he will get PP time, he is still very effective on the PP. Just age and speed I think caught him this year. Still love the guy, his history and what he has meant to nhl, cnd hockey, the flames and avs, I just think for what's best for the team he will be a third forth line guy. Unless he decides the avs can't make a cup run and asks for a trade. I would respect that. He deserves a cup. Wish we could have Landy take it and pass it straight to him but sadly I don't see that this coming year.
What would be a good contract for Radulov? 3 to 4 mil per season 3 year deal? I think he would have the grit upside over boedker and probably cheaper...
Avs core needs to take a big step. Duchene is good, but could be better with the right wingers around him. Radulov and Duchene could make for a scary combo, but where is there any evidence that he wants to come to Colorado!? MacKinnon is still young, so it's tough to put any pressure on him, yet he is producing consistently. He will be the next Avs player to push last the point-per-game pace. Landy... Well he plays the best power forward type game on this team, can't really say he needs to change much.

I'm liking the Radulov-duchene-grigs lime. Duchene with speed great passing and shooting skills, grigs with amazing passing and pretty good at defensive end of the ring and Radulov with grit, pure goal scoring. Could be an elite top line

Depending on if they can shed a little salary (Holden, Mitchell). I would like to see 2 years at 5m or 3 years at 4m.

Thats my ideal line combos. With upgrades to to 3RW pushing Comeau down, Moving Iggy if they can, and replacing Mitchell with Compher or another UFA C like Helm

The top 6 with the addition of ran amd rad looks pretty sweet! If we can't sign matthias I would try for Backes if the blues let him walk, I don't think they will be able to move iggy, but if they can move holden/mitchell and a 4th for a second round pick that would be sweet, moving them in general would be ideal. I like the idea of movimg comeau down to the forth. He is what mitchell was a few years ago, a guy who can move into anyline. But move him down and put compher in his spot, with the signed third liner (matthias/backes who ever) and that woyld be a solid four lines. you think they will try and add a defense men? Some one who can play third line? Or just leave as is...
