This is HUGE for our team. We needed to be in the top 3 and I had been hoping for #2 which sounds wrong but I think it's a great spot to be in. We have to decide on Trouba......send him to CLB for 3rd overall and player/prospect? Get both Fins LOL! Ideally Trouba signs and takes the next step but I would love to get them both. The other move is the 22nd overall pick and a top prospect to get back into top 9-12 and get a left handed D-man...

Soon enough the cup will be coming home.

The Jets actually now have too much talent. They need to start upgrading through trades especially with the NHL entry draft around the corner. Where do guys like Petan, Lemieux, Dano, Tanev, De Leo , Komaschuk , and Lipon now fit into the plans. Jets also have 22nd pick and 36th. Its time to start trading some of these prospects and filling in the final pieces of the puzzle. That also might involve using them to move that 22nd pick up into the top 10 . Chevy really needs to start making some moves here now that we have the talent for three solid lines and 4 top D.

I think that all those guys except maybe Petan are now very expendable as well as anyone slated for the 4th line....Armia-Burmistrov-Copp.

Dano, Lemeuix, Copp, Petan, and Armia are not expendable. They all have top six potential aside from Copp and maybe Lemeiux. Lemeuix is the only name there that isn't already a top 9 forward.

I may have asked this a while back, but see how you feel about Nurse for Trouba? It would fill that need for another bluechip LHD prospect and is a more cost-controlled asset. Imagine two or three years down the road:

Nurse- Byfuglien
Enstrom/Morrissey- Myers
Others...

Not sure but he leads Niagara in playoff scoring in OHL going into the finals. Of course, they will get obliterated by the london Knights and he has about half the points Marner has - but he has elite talent.
