Re. bringing back Hamhuis, I don't mind seeing him walk but JB keeps bringing him up to the media. When JB spoke the other day, I don't think he was even asked about Hamhuis (maybe I should go back and listen to it again), and JB started talking about Hamhuis...
I guess the benefit of bringing back Hamhuis, on a short term contract, is he could could put off the need to have Pedan slotted in or someone else the club may think isn't ready for a full time spot. Pedan or whoever could be traded for a player or draft pick. I want to see Pedan get his shot here but wonder what his value would be to another club? Similar situation to what TInordi was seeing Montreal?
I'd almost rather see Sbisa moved instead but Pedan hasn't shown he can bring that physical game consistently yet. Feck it, just move Sbisa and free up the cap space. - hillbillydeluxe
Pretty much my thinking also. Hamhuis is the top UFA D in a thin market. |

It totally was armageddon like. People were amazing though. Really proud the people. I gave as much fuel as I had to people. (free of course) Everyone was helping people who were stranded with whatever they had for food and water, picking up people stranded. I didn't eat for a couple days but had had lots of water so I gave what I could. I felt like i could have helped more but really there is not much you can do. |

I don't want to campaign . It's out of my control. I hope we see newer better players. - VANTEL
Like I said, I want to see Pedan get a fair shot. He has put in the time, it was disappointing he didn't get more ice time when they knew they were already eliminated.
I want to say we would be further ahead if we signed Hamhuis and moved a player, but it would be a step back. moving on and will live with the results...
Pretty much my thinking also. Hamhuis is the top UFA D in a thin market. - Nighthawk
Might be the time to try to get through the year with what we have, without Hamuhis, and if it doesn't work, look for a ufa dman next year?
Is management going to roll the dice?
We don't have much on the farm close to being ready for a call up. Options- Subban, Fedun, Sautner. and Stecher...
A busy summer for JB. |

Is it really? Marner had the privilege of playing with Domi and now Tkachuk...I think his numbers are being inflated. Marner isn't the one retrieving the puck off the boards. Let's not forget Tkachuk out scored all of them at the WJC as well. Even the great Matthews - CanuckDon
Interesting.. I think Tkachuk probably has inflated stats. But he's probably still the 4th top prospect in this draft got to think.. would be a nice pick up for Vancouver |

Marner won't make it as a C.
Remains to be seen if he can handle the rough going.
So far Domi has shown he is more than only offence.
Tkachuk can hold his own & dish it out.
Marner better be elusive or he will get crushed & it won't take many big hits.
The kid is dynamic but yet to prove it against men.
Gaudreau types r rare along with Tyler Johnson.
The more i ponder the more i want Tkachuk.
His edge does it for me. |

I'm not criticizing Marner but the argument that Tkachuk is a product of his line is idiotic. Good players typically play with other top prospects. THe kids excels everywhere |

Didn't see Marner inflate his stats over the last season.
Lets see how he does without top prospects in Jr & playing against men next.
5' 11" @ 164 lbs idk players like Gallagher Gaudreau r few & far inbetween.
Drouin got clocked pulling a Jr move. If he doesn't learn he will pay from more of it. |

He creates room and chances for his line mates. That said I agree with you hisstats are inflated. |

No more inflated than other top prospects. Eg Marner
Yet ppl knock the QMJHL but the OHL gets nothing but credit. |

Now that the after lottery bummer is over I'm with JB that we will get a true foundation piece. Either Tkachuk or Dubois works for me. I'll backtrack on trading down unless an insane offer comes our way.l |

Leafs don't need marner to be a center so that's fine they're already set down the middle with Mathews/Nylander/Kadri. Marner is a way better junior player then Domi ever was so not sure why everyone likes to compare the two. I don't have much doubts that marner will be a very good nhl player, he's just too good.

Once upon a time Canucks fans were all excited about some guy named Hodgson after he had such a great year in junior. Won CHL Player of the Year and everything. Was going to be great, next captain of the team, lead them to the promised land, etc., etc. Didn't quite go as well as we'd hoped. |
