We put in the work with Johan, it would be shooting ourselves in the foot to trade him now that he's is paying dividends, we need to stop doing that. Girgensons shouldn't go anywhere either, not while his value is low. He's a good player who hit a rough patch, it happens, he works to hard to stay down so we need to just give him some time. If Larsson is the man moving forward than Girgenson should be moved at the trade deadline after he's had a chance to turn things around, not now. The only way I would like to see him leave this offseason would be as part of a package for Lindholm.

I have not, no but you would think there has to be a level of interest when it comes to that, how it will affect there decision I don't know.
- SABRES 89

thx...am interested because the heat just shelved chris bosh for the year because of a blood clot...don't know if there are any similarities, but it's an eye-brow raiser

NHL mock drafts have Us taking Pierre-Luc Dubois or Alexander Nylander. Any body have some insight on these two?
- Sabre_Tooth

Dubois seems a bit overrated
Not that he isn't good, but usually a got has to score much more in the Q to be ranked so high.

Nylander is small-ish, but a really good playmaker. Probably won't be a big goal scorer at the NHL level. Think Backstrom as far as style of play offensively.

I'd be "ok" with either one,
But Jolieve, Chychrun or Sergychev are the guys is target at that spot
Any of them could potentially be Risto's partner for the future

Stamkos, Vesey, Caggiula could all be targets to help our top6

They have similar enough skill sets that I could se one of them moved...
BUT

Neither have anywhere close to enough trade Value to get us a partner for Risto or a winger for Jack

Not right now anyways

So it makes sense to me that they'd both be back next year

- jdfitz77

it may come down to the two working on a line together...they did so in Rochester and seem to work off of each other pretty well

Not arguing on Lindholm, but what's the deal with him? He has alright offensive numbers, but nothing eye popping. Is it his potential?

I'm completely on board with Hoffman, I think that he would be a great fit, and a lot cheaper than some of the "other" options.
- bobmack13

Very true and we can add a few players if we don't get the big ticket one.

Totally agree with all of this
Doesn't necessarily have to be Lindholm though
I'd trade either guy (or even both) if it gets us a young partner for Risto...
I just don't see either being a big enough piece to center the trade around
If I were the Ducks (or whoever)...
I'd want Fasching back

Girgenson can fill Backus shoes if he doesn't stay with the Blues IMO.

Dubois seems like a big-bodied power forward, much like Stafford but hopefully more consistent. Nylander is smaller, but fast, Reinhart style of seeing the ice and knowing where to be. I would say he's like Ehlers, good hands and can put the puck in the net. His downside would he his size, but who knows how much bigger he'll get. I think he can do well with the centers we have in place, and he's definitely the guy I want us select at #8.

Don't think so, TM is familiar with the new Sens GM.

I've had that thought also
Could easily see Girgs taking Gionta's spot on the line
Either at some point this year, or next season when Gionta is presumably gone

IMO, Girgs has the skill & work ethic to play anywhere from line2 - line4
Right now, he's in the top6...
But could be bumped down with additions like Stamkos, Vesey, etc etc

He's had a tough time finding his role under Bylsma
Or maybe it's the other way around?
Maybe it's Bylsma that's having a tough time figuring out where to play him...
Just a thought

I'd move the 8th pick + for Drouin, won't happen but it sounded good.

would be a great pickup...

with each top-six addition, the rest start falling into their proper places on the depth chart...third and fourth liners will actually be playing on the third and fourth lines where they should be...

what a concept

Gonna be hard for StL to let Backes (their Captain) walk if they win the Cup.
Especially since he's been playing so well in the playoffs (finally!)

They're going to have a very interesting offseason
They've gotta figure out what they're doing in Goal as well

Allen seems to be the guy for the future...
But do u really trade Elliot if u win the Cup?
He's gonna get the Con Smythe trophy if they do

Elliott has been getting crapped on in st louis for years and has simply played his backup role and waited for his chance...am squarely in his corner

Sure...
I'd assume the new Sens GM doesn't feel like he "owes us one" like Uncle Brian May have thought though
I'd trade non 1st round pick for Hoffman all day though
I think they'd be crazy to move the kid

I just think it's fair to point out that it works both ways

If Girgensons isn't good enough to play on the top line, yet Bylsma keeps putting him with Jack...
Then who's fault is it really?
A coach has to put guys in the spot where they can best succeed

And maybe it's on Murray as well
Tough to blame Bylsma for playing Girgs up there when his other options were Moulson or Deslauriers

Like u said above...
Some offseason acquisitions could lead to ppl being slotted more appropriately

StL has never really given him a chance in the post season,
Even though his regular seasons have been really good

Allen last year, Miller the year before...
Elliot is showing just how good he can be

Wonder what they could get from a team like Edmonton or Winnipeg if they decide to trade him?

Elliot & Shattenkirk --> #4 and Eberle or RNH
Maybe the Oilers have to add a little more?
