Injury prone, inconsistent, the wrong side of 30, and expensive.
No thanks. Andersen please. |

Reimer is the worst option Todd. Will command high dollars and term due to being a FA and I would take fleury and his play/contract in heart beat ahead of reimer. |

Fleury is a solid reliable goalie. Not a top 5 league goalie, but only 5 teams get those. If they can acquire him without giving up too much they should.(Same for the Leafs)
Signing Reimer as a UFA is also a good option, he's a very good goalie. I don't think his contract demands will be insane. I could see a 3 year $4million deal which is fair. Calgary should be in on that.(Same for the Leafs) |

But at what price.. They'll certainly want some young talent to replenish their thinned out system.
Not the worst cap hit at 5.75 for three years. Beats three years of Jimmy Howard at 5.5..
I wonder what Pens fans would consider an equitable return. We have plenty of draft picks this year. Hah maybe we can flip Brett Pollock as a part of the deal. |

The cost to acquire Fleury was discussed ad nasseam. PIT fans seem to think he's worth our 6th OA and a top player/prospect. He's 31. He has a had many concussions and other injuries. There is a LOT of mileage on that frame since he's been playing primarily as the #1 since he was 18. I'd consider him if there aren't any other options but only if, and I'm in no way expecting BT to give up anything other that FLA 2nd rnd and a 3rd or B prospect and a cap dump that may help them, like Raymond or Wideman. I know PIT fans will come on here and say he's worth so much more... maybe, but not to CGY. There are better options out their, IMO. |

Not sure Fleury would balk at the chance of being #1 for the lion share of the remaining contract. Backing Murray up in the playoffs has got to burn a proud athlete.
But, depending on the asking price. If it's just Fluery, I wouldn't part with too much, maybe one of our later 2nd rounders. Now if they were to take a Wideman or Stajan or Raymond off of us, I would have no problem giving up one of our better prospects like Klimchuk or Hickey & add that 2nd rounder. I think there are a number of bridge goalies we can obtain & move an unwanted contract back to acquire, Dallas will probably want to move one of their goalies, Reimer is an option if there aren't too many suitors to bump the $$$ & term, Howard is possible. heck even Bernier could probably be had from the Leafs. I would love to get Andersen but it won't happen.

to me, SO much of it has to do with the parameters that the expansion draft is going to put into place. admittedly, i dont know exactly what they are, so it is rough to gauge.
i LOVE fleury as a fan, and have strong emotional ties. but viewing him strictly as an asset, all things considered as best I can, i'd be a seller at a pair of your seconds. |

Injury prone ... No concussions this season
Inconsistent... Not the last 2 seasons
Yes he s 31
Expensive? ... He's the 18th highest paid goaltender in the league
I would not give up the 6 for him ... But maybe a second and prospects |

This exactly what I think he'll end up getting. And if that's the case I would say sign him. Unfortunately and probably unfairly, he has the stank of playing for TML for the last few years on him. Good for him showing more credibility since going to SJS.
With a thin goalie market, especially for people looking for a #1, I just don't see Reimer getting the huge payday some say he'll want. Couple that with the pending expansion draft and there will likely be a bigger influx of goalies on the market. The only problem for CGY is, they have to wait until July 1st to try to sign him. They may not want to risk that when they have several draft picks they could move at the draft. Of course, they should be able to talk with his agent before the draft I believe as I think that falls in the week prior to the FA frenzy, so maybe they get a good feeling he'll sign come July 1st. |

Flower is every bit a top 5 goalie. Has only one bad playoff series under his belt. Not a few like everyone likes to say. He isnt going to be availabnext season. |

Dude ... Do you watch pens games? MAF has basically been the team mvp the last two seasons till he got hurt.... - Brianandr1
Dude, your MVP isn't playing in the playoffs. & rightfully so. If he's your MVP then keep as a backup. But you're not getting the #6 or Bennett for him. End of discussion. Click....................dial tone. |

Yep. And Reimer wants to be a #1, he's from Manitoba so I think Calgary is probably already on his radar big time. |

He s not playing because the pens think Murray could be the next Carey price... he s the biggest reason the pens are beating the best team in th league this season and the third best team in the east in round one... Again ... Do you watch hockey?
Murray and fleury are both high end goalies
The only click... Dial tone was gmjr on the flames trying to trade Bennett for Murray at the deadline |

That is a fair expectation. I think you (someone did) suggested that on Ek's thread. One of the only fair valuations of an expected return. |

honestly maf gives you the best chance to win until you can develop a goalie in the system through drafting. but that is just it. he WILL help you win and is the best goalie available atm that will help you do that. but do you WANT to win atm? or still rebuilding? |

i love fleury. im not even 100 percent sold on the trading him route. that will depend on the expansion draft.
but goalies dont really fetch what people think. |

Murray looks like he will take over the #1 job, but it wouldn't be bad to keep both for next season. BUT whenever expansion draft comes around you can only protect 1 goalie and that will be Murray. And this is the reason Fleury will go for less than his real value on the trade market. |

I'd rather say
1.Price
2.Lundqvist
3.Holtby
4.schnider
5. quick, bishop, maf or rask.
PS Quick is highly overated especially considering the team infront of him that is really really good defensivly. Also it seems "the king" is starting to decline a little. |
