I thought they were looking at a return to Phoenix area anyways? Possibly sharing with the Suns? |

Could be. They are better off just relocating completely IMO |

Tkachuk is going to Oilers 4OA. OR, going 4OA regardless of whoever owns that pick. - Codes1087
100% Tckachuk goes 4th....he is a better prospect than Dubois |

Absolutely not. I will be very happy if our "consolation prize" is Dubois but Tkachuk I think has stolen the consensus 4OA prospect in this draft with his recent play. - Codes1087
He is making a push for 3rd overall. He has been tremendous |

Yes you could .
The proper way for most teams to develop players is for a few years in the AHL. When Benning took over he had to be creative because of the mess he was given. We had no youth . He fixed the problem now lets get back to doing it properly.
The same as having too many old guys on the roster , having too many youth is the same problem.
A team should not be injecting 10 guys under 24 onto their roster . That was well noted by the vets on their exit meeting.
Lets get back to doing it the proper way - VANTEL
I... I agree?

I don't remember ever saying anything to do with playoffs, other than Tkachucks 2.79 ppg average in playoffs in an earlier post. Funny how you mention McKeen yet, Tkachuk was 5th or 6th behind not only Mcleod but Nylander according to his rankings? Good try though. I said I would be absolutely happy with either Tkachuk and Dubois and having Dubois as a "consolation prize" would still be amazing as either player would be a great addition for us. I think if you look up what consensus means, you would understand that you McKeen statement doesn't make much sense. - Codes1087

Once out of the top 5 prolly next up is 6-10 to maybe 12.
From there its need more so & BPA begins to be overrated.
Its not very sexy trading down to most ppl but if & only if its done right it could be the better option. It all hinges on what package JB can squeeze out of it. That said there is no need to force a deal & keep 5OA since i doubt we will draft as high next year.
The UFA & RFA season could have the most impact & show us a better & more clear picture where JB intends us to be eg playoff team & future core. Stamkos if we r lucky enough to get him is my 1st target & i don't hold out that will likely happen. I do see us as a playoff bubble next year but not going far due to the D lacking offense. It constantly makes me scratch my head & ponder the D in this draft & I've decided a top 4 must be had somewhere along the line. Scoring overall is the biggest challenge especially the PP. Team D will improve if we don't suffer the same rash of injuries but all the kids MUST bring their game on D up another notch.
I still like us to add M Martin for a 4th line LW banger with some offense.
Going forward i don't really see much in the system for what he can do for us.
Its a minor move but prolly not very costly.
Gaunce would usurp 4C from Granlund in this scenario. |

you have SCF pick yet? Pretty sure TB will be there....west no clue - SMBDragon
TBAY won't make it past PIT.
West is a toss up if it's SJ vs STL. If it's STL vs NSH, STL will take it. |

what is your reasoning for that? I wish youd posted a reason.
Watch Stamkos will come back a game in and be a game changer or something like that. |

Although i thought the Caps were well balanced & too much for Pitt that was not the case. Pitt is on a roll since before the playoffs & i've always been a firm believer that is 1 key playoff component. That said TB to me has speed & better playoff proven players than the Caps & will guess TB in 6. |

And why not? perhaps he's lost a bit of a step but he's still a quality defender in my opinion, who can play in pretty much any scenario. Throw in his mentoring abilities and I think it should be a no brainer to bring him back for at least a couple of more years.
On a bit of a side-note, I'm surprised to see people so eager to trade McCann. The guy is still basically a kid (19 years old for gawd sakes!) but he's already made an impact and had a fairly successful NHL campaign. He's got a wicked shot, all around skill, and puts in a solid effort in every night. All he needs to do is bulk up an get a little more experience and it's obvious that he is a top 6 forward.
Why make a lateral move (unless it's part of a significant package) when we have this young talented kid locked up who will be a solid asset for years to come? Canucks fans are frustratingly notorious for essentially looking at change for the sake of change, and I'm glad that cooler heads prevail in JB and TL. Let the kid develop for a few years just like every other star that is in a team's system - Zogg
It's because in the scenario where we draft Dubois as a future top 6 centre, we can afford to give up a prospect like McCann to acquire a top 4 defensive prospect. You gotta give to get. We are not close to a playoff contender, so use what you have to get you there sooner. |

I don't really want to trade him, but we do have a little depth at centre. |

Im still on board with trading down to colorado and getting barrie (also is a BC boy), might take like 5OA and McCann and maybe throw in Sbisa for 10OA and Barrie. Sign Demers and the D would actually be pretty set and can then draft either Bean/ or Tyson Jost at center.
