my wife, a filipina, when she lived downtown would always laugh (or cringe) about this old woman with a thick eastern european accent who rode the bus and complained about foreigners...

us and them, often nice to be part of the us, not so nice to be singled out as them.

Blackhawks have signed Gustav Forsling to an entry-level deal. How long until he makes Canucks fans weep?

My favourite part of being a Canucks fan is laughing at people freaking out about C level prospects and 3rd liners! Asset management

No hiding players from expansion due to injury. Every player either not protected in 1 of the 2 formats or having less than 2 years of NHL service be it in the NHL or minors has to be exposed.

I could careless what Linden thinks about my feelings, nor I his. Ha-ha! I think he's far more concerned with the fact paid seats went unused in mass last season & potentially 2000 season ticket holders won't be renewing their seats this season. The Canucks made 35.5 million in 2014-15 & even with the dollar & no playoff gates will still make close to 20 million this season if not more. Next season that #'s dropping even more but still a very profitable franchise. I'm simply putting my money where my mouth is. They won't get another 8K from next season.

what moves would the club have to make for you to renew?

I ask this because it appears there is no course of action to make everyone happy. Season ticket holders likely want to watch a competitive team and on ice product. Other fans want to see another high pick and stock the cupboards with talent.

How does the club keep paying customers/season ticket holders? How do you operate a business without revenue. Are you saying the club should have saved more from the glory years? and if they did, what should they do with that money today?

Well it's certainly your right to abandon the team when they enter a rebuild. Losing isn't easy but the franchise will survive and flourish again no matter how many jump off the wagon. Flyers are a fun team to cheer for

if people are legit war refugees, that's one thing, it's entirely different when they are economic migrants.

people who are safe in camps in jordan aren't the real war refugees.

the yazidi/ druze/ Shiites who were being murdered and raped. those are the actual refugees.

- kaptaan

Isn't it a little funny though that Canada was heavily populated post WWI and II with war refugees, and these are likely some of our grandparents and great grandparents.

Back then they would have been non English speaking Europeans.

Let's face it, real fans now a days show up to games no matter how the team is doing to support their team. The rest call themselves fans except they are sitting in front of their computers and saying stupid crap on twitter. Everybody likes to see there team win but unfortunately most don't know the best thing they can do is show up and cheer.

It just sounded like he is upset with the product, not sure what he wanted to see happen to improve the product. and am not sure what else the org can do besides decrease ticket prices- no magic wand to turn things around....

I wish I could afford to see a few more games in person.

They aren't cheap. I bought 8 tickets from a friend who has season tickets to the jets. I make sure to see the canucks everytime when they play the jets and its awkward to cheer when everyone else is cheering against them.

I guess you can't expect everyone to have the same understanding of what is happening with the team, especially if they only got on the band wagon when the canucks went to the SCF. Sadly, I kind of got onboard when they went the finals against the NYR.

You have every right to support or pull your support, it's your money. Personally I think you're wrong about Benning and Linden mismanaging the club. It's been 2 years, drafting has been great compared to Gillis overall tenure. I have liked some trades and disliked other trades. Same can be said of Gillis and all the predecessors before Gillis. Those 2 inherited a mess and are doing what they can to rectify the situation, there's no magic potion or magic wand. And if people think Tallon, Bowman, Shanahan, Lombardi, Babcock, Lamarillo or jesus himself would make this club a SC contender is being extremely naive...IMO.

There are so many fans that have only experienced the hey days here, there is an ebb and flow that has to happen.

I moved out here in Feb '94 and found the topic of the Canucks was a good way to meet new people and way to fit in at a new job. I got sucked in and enjoyed following ever since.

The way the team is run, moves and such, it reminds me of family, don't always agree with brothers, sisters, whoever, but you are committed for the long haul. it's in the blood.

I find it funny that people would pay for this product, let alone complain about paying for it.

100 % . I wouldn't pay to see a game . First off , every game now broadcasted in hi def. comforts of home. No line ups . Cheap beer at home.

I know I won't pay to go to a game at least for two more years.

Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks: Linden Vey Family Murder Plot, Expansion Draft
Linden Vey will be spending part of his offseason in a courtroom as his father goes on trial for an alleged plot to murder his mother, and we take a look ahead at a possible NHL expansion draft.

- Carol Schram

I wasn't aware that this wasn't common knowledge by now. This was/is big news in my hometown. Through work I've dealt with Curtis and Angela and the man they allegedly conspired to have murdered.

This story only gets weirder the more you learn about it, I remember it made national news when it first broke so I'm just surprised it took so long before the connection to Linden was made and the Canucks had to make a statement on the matter.
