I'm not suggesting they would try to sign him, I'm just saying production-wise he was put in a better position to succeed than Vancouver could offer in the next 4+ years and put up decent numbers. I cant see him producing anywhere close to that with kids or free agent signings and especially as he ages. If we are ready to buyout Burrows because of his subpar performance and contract value, Ladd will be him in 2 seasons tops

drafting tkachuk would be good to have Ladd then for a couple more seasons allowing him to develop more then have

last week we were hearing from media that Dubois was going 4th and we were getting Tkachuk at 5th... we need centres, so we should trade down and get a dman or lesser ranked centre...

Either way, Tkachuk or Dubois at 5th isn't so bad.

Absolutely not. I will be very happy if our "consolation prize" is Dubois but Tkachuk I think has stolen the consensus 4OA prospect in this draft with his recent play.

I don't think we are getting Stamkos , so we have room for 2-3 players of a lower tier. It may or may not be Eriksson Ladd McGinn LUcic Brouwer . We don't know who those players will be , but there will be players coming in. Both Trevor and Jim have said they have targets at UFA

Having virtanen and McCann play in the nhl this season and basically wasting it. At least 1 of them is going to be on the team next season. If they didn't feel they were ready then they would have continued their development in the CHL.

IF he or the guys you listed can come in at reasonable term, I dont mind overpayment (like the Miller contract). I would just like to see these off the books before most of the ELC's run out so JB can reset the pay structure for the team

I have seen before that JB is highly interested in Jake Bean. I personally also really like JB (Jake Bean) haha. Still not a top 10 pick, if they do trade down they better get him though.

They were too good for Jr and too young for AHL. This year they are not too young

I don't remember ever saying anything to do with playoffs, other than Tkachucks 2.79 ppg average in playoffs in an earlier post. Funny how you mention McKeen yet, Tkachuk was 5th or 6th behind not only Mcleod but Nylander according to his rankings? Good try though. I said I would be absolutely happy with either Tkachuk and Dubois and having Dubois as a "consolation prize" would still be amazing as either player would be a great addition for us. I think if you look up what consensus means, you would understand that you McKeen statement doesn't make much sense.
