Hall and the 4th? Jesus Chireli would be crucified. Hall Mcdavid Draisaitl are your pieces moving forward. Did Hall turn into a scrub? Adding a 4th overall is over the top for Subban. - thundachunk
I read that a went wow, when did Subban become Chris Pronger? If that were to happen it'd be straight across IMO.
Hall has been top three highest scoring wingers over the past three years. |

I really like this kid too, but getting him would require trading down. |

Would ARZ move the 7th and 20th for the 5th? Would you take that? If Tkachuk/Dubois are valued so much higher than others, perhaps you even get more. I'd still keep the 5th. Unless ARZ wants to severely overpay. Benning hasn't got quantity (picks) over the years, but you can't say he hasn't got quality. A great 1st draft..
Perhaps next year he'll start adding picks. Having to move 2nds etc to fill in those void years has hurt our stock of picks. - storm88
Honestly, I don't have a preference on what they do. I don't watch the prospects enough, nor do I have the insight on what trades could be made around the league or what needs management values the most. I trust that if they do trade down, they must think they see something in a lesser ranked player that other teams dont value or fit their needs and can afford to make that move |

Im really hoping for Dubois especially since he plays multiple positions as it gives more flexibility for who to draft next year. But I would like them to trade back with calgary and then again with Buffalo if they could score 2 additional 2nd rounders. Then take who ever. Seems after 4/5 it drops a bit then is pretty flat until about12/13 so you just hope calgary wants to pay to get one of the big LW and buffalo to get there choice of Dmen over the yotes. |

Tavares and Greiss carried them to the second round. - thundachunk
Totally. NYI's are close. Don't (frank) it up by signing someone like Lucic. |

HOW MANY POWER FORWARDS DOES VAN NEED! lol jk. I have a hope that he doesn't keep trading away Van's entire future for a middle aged now. |

Would you trade 5 to Carolina for 13,21,43,50?
I wouldnt mind that to get Jost and possibly Fabbro |

Thats all I hope for. Start acquiring picks not shipping them out.
On another note Im all about having almost all power forward two way types and then drop in one or two skill guys.. Kinda like a St. Louis style. |

Don't have any player that is a dangler type, skilled stick handler.
Horvat 2 way
Virtanen Power
Boeser 2 way/play maker
Baertschi 2 way
Gaunce 2 way
Etem 2 way

How is he a douche? He didn't work out, it happens. Fell down the depth charts. Be nice if he signed with Utica and was a call up. - manvanfan
Just meant a little bit of a douche. Referencing his dirty hit at the worlds that got him a suspension. |

Boeser could be that guy but hes more of a horvat type with way more offense. Someone we could draft in the next couple years, Kinda like a kane or tarasenko type. |

I think you've miscast those two. Boeser is a shooter and finisher more than playmaker, and Sven, while possessing a good 2-way game, is definitely a skilled stick handler. If youre thinking skilled dangler off the rush, youre right they dont have a player with that combination of speed and skill |

Pretty much. Need a playmaker or 2 but most importantly a pure sniper. Although i wouldn't define Bae as a 2 way player, more of a playmaker/offensive guy. |

I'll say it again, I would never trade the 5OA unless some team massively overpays us with their first rounder + a blue-chip 1C center prospect. If we're trading down we better be getting someone who's better than who we'd have picked at 5. I'd consider it if Arizona would give us the 20th and Strome. I'd also consider trading the 5th if we could get the 2nd or 3OA |

It was a difficult decision, Boeser did have more assists then goals. Watching the final four NCAA games, he had a good shot but was better at creating space and opportunities for his line mates.
I didn't see a lot of dangling from Sven last season. He's no Marner! Maybe An Ehlers type of player i'd be looking for in the future. |

What are peoples thoughts on the 5th pick jumping in to the line up next season? I have seen a couple interviews saying TKachuk is ready next season, which would probably be in a limited 3rd/4th line roll. Could Dubois be ready next year too? He is bigger, faster and it seems like he plays a better two way game.
THoughts? |

His scouting report has always been scorer, and usually where he plays he ends up with more goals than assists. He is a good offensive player playing on a juggernaut team, so he was bound to pick up assists and play off of people thinking he was going to shoot
Sven hasnt done much of the highlight reel dangle goals, but he makes crafty little moves throughout the game which show his skillset |

I think there's a decent number of snipers who put up points consistently year to year and I hate to admit it but nobodys been able to slow Kessel down this playoffs. |

I like that they compare him to Patrick Sharp. I imagine he'll be a better version, putting up more points. |

If I look back I'd say they'd probably get 13, 21 & 50. And I'd do it if Edmonton takes Dubois. |

I can see that, but a balanced roster can compensate for a pure sniper's lack of all-around game. Kessel is a perfect example of that. Is Pittsburgh where they are today if it wasn't for Kessel's playoff performace so far? |
