Are you saying that Jenner is an awkward skater and that CLB has really good wingers?
- belcherbd

Yes that is exactly what I'm saying.

Decent article on Brown...certainly explains why he shot up the draft ranking so dramatically

Because he chose team USA over team Canada ala Brett Hull style?
- thundachunk

Lol nope because I think it's no a brainer with tkachuk or dubois.. We need a 1st line LW like tkachuk just as much

"So it’s unlikely he projects as a true No. 1 centre in the NHL, but he has a chance to be a helluva force as a #2 centre for some NHL team for a long time to come. " Dubois is still the obvious choice. If he is gone, Tkachuk is likely still the better choice over Brown.

Hopefully.. But most likely yes... Where as brown he's much more of a wildcard.. Maybe he's a #1 center or maybe he's a career 3rd liner like Boyle

Without just cause...

I don't know why or how I have this thought but for some reason I see JB drafting Brown.

Look at how far down the list dubois is from tkachuk....tkachuk up there with crosby, mcjesus, drouin, kane....with 1.96 ppg. Id take tkachuk if available.

we will have to see whos available when time comes....
best case scenario is acquiring another 1st and getting both! That move right there coupled with boeser coming a year later will make the future of the team. problem is if it were calgarys #6 both wont be available. #4 would be steep price. The #6 is a move you make last minute in case something strange happens and these guys are still around

Benning would be the just cause!! Lol... I just think people are too obsessed with browns size over his actual skill.. If tkachuk, dubois and brown are the same size are we even having this conversation? No.. I'll take the natural skill, not the what could be

It's nice to dream of acquiring another top pick but the reality is there's zero chance.. We traded away the assets for Gudbranson..

And it was worth it. Slight overpayment, but IMO only because it was this years 2nd and not next years.

OH ya I agree as well.. Was just stating we don't have the assets to acquire another top pick like dragon is suggesting.. At least none we should move aka virtanen, boeser or Demko

One asst that no one mentions is Markstrom. He is a UFA next year and he knows he is not the future goalie here. It might be something to think about at TDL. Who would be better to help Demko.

I doubt Edler waives. Hutton/tryamkin should be unavailable unless the package has a wow factor. Tanev should only be used in a package to upgrade our defence. Edler + Hansen package could possibly get us a top 15 pick if they would waive for the team willing to part with the pick.

Markstrom may turn out much better than Demko, remember, Demko is going to be coached by Cloutier.

we dont move any of the upcoming high end prospects no...from your list I'd say Edler is most expendable. I like him and all but also heard from thundachunk about him being a bad teammate on the ice....dont like that idea. Maybe parting with him would be good. I'd prefer to keep him and he does have a shot, but hes been here what 10 years already? maybe time to part.

Do we really want to resign Miller though? Demko will need to play 1 year in AHL and back-up 1-2 years before he is ready(most likely). The only other possibility is that we build a strong defense to insulate him for a strong development.

Edlers not going anywhere we all just need to except that fact. Management love him and he won't waive.. They're not gonna trade Tanev for future assets when that's what we just traded to acquire a top 4 Dman.. And Hutton and tryamkin would just be back peddling I would think.. Plus not enough.. I'd also have tryamkin on the untouchable list right now, let's not be the team that kept redden and traded Chara

3rd year gets Edler to wave??
