Which is fine. I'm in the camp that we need to move on from Melanson's style. I also think Markstrom would benefit from a different coach as well. You could see some of the 'Lou' things creeping into his game that Melanson fought so hard to get Lou to convert to. Miller has had issue with Melansons style as well.
I would like to see Demko with a fresh goalie coach here when the time is right…who that will be remains to be seen. If Demko struggles in Utica (which is doubtful) Markstrom could be here five more seasons…lots to think about but I do believe Demko is our money goalie of the future. - LordHumungous
on one hand melanson has had our goalies doing very well for quite a number of years. THats a credit to him.
on the other hand I think a goalie coach needs to see a goalies strengths and coach him using his individual strengths, not try to change the foundation in which a goalie has been made, unless its a gaping hole in his game. Seems melanson has his way and cant tailor to suit each individual goalie. |

Guessing there was some friction between Melanson and Miller. Disagreements on the impact(s) of relative humidity and climate change. |

Yeah so the price has gone way, way up. - A_SteamingLombardi
Has it though? With all the expansion draft talk it might be desirable for the Isles to move Hammer for a winger to play with Tavares. They are already have Pulock, Boychuk and Leddy to protect I think. |

wow thought for sure SJ would edge out the pens ...
cant believe the job sullivan is doing w pens. Turned them right around.
and Deboer w the sharks too.
I remember the players here revolting against sullivan....caught him on ice and cornered him for 20 min. Guess they had some serious questioning for him.
Maybe he learned from that |

Kuzma on 1040 reported that Edmonton is going after Hamonic now. Makes sense since they lost out on Guddy. - Retinalz

You talk like Logan Brown is some unskilled player? He had 1.25 PPG this year in a tougher league to play in, OHL vs QMJHL. He was 19th overall in scoring in the OHL. He also had 12 points in 7 games for USA U18 at the WJC-18.
I think all three are great prospects, but if I had to list them I'd put a premium on Brown being a center and their ability to skate. I'd list them Dubois, Brown, Tkachuk.
Brown is not an unskilled player! - LeftCoaster
Dont get me wrong I think brown is a solid prospect and could turn out to be a great player.. I just don't think he's more skilled then tkachuk or dubois. I don't think he's the pick at 5 for this team is all.. If they're looking at brown I'd personally rather trade down and grab Tyson jost and assets... But at the end of the day it's tkachuk or dubois no brainer for me |

He's local media. Whether or not this is true or not I don't know.. But he was talking about a hall for hamonic style trade.. I could see it.. Trade Hall to get hamonic and then draft tkachuk.. Makes a lot of sense |

Credible.
It makes sense, as well. Some reports/scuttlebutt that Lucic isn't that excited about playing in his hometown with the heightened pressure & scrutiny. He'd be a good fit in Edmonton (dear baby jesus, dear, dear baby jesus). |

They would probably get a little more than just Hamonic as well. |

You would think so... If they draft tkachuk, sign lucic it makes sense ton of sense to do it if you're Edmonton |

That's fine let Edmonton have one or two good years with him and be hamstrung with an albatross contract instead of us.

The first season of TPB was filmed in my wife's family trailer court in Dartmouth, NS. They had to find a new location for season two because residents complained it made them look bad.
Edit: Wife's family owns said trailer court. Not live in it. |

a poster earlier posted a link to brown write up....in that write up there was a list of players in this draft and past drafts that had scored so many points at the level they were at in the draft....tkachuk was near the top at 1.96 ppg, this was in the top maybe 8 with crosby, mcjesus, kane etc.
Dubois was 1.5......brown was towards the bottom.
tkachuk is quite a talent. Best of the 3 according to the list. When you up there that far with names like crosby that says something. |

Payroll wise, at some point that oiler roster is going to be impossible to manage under a salary cap structure. They need to stay away from players like Lucic for the very reason you posted above.

He's the 4th best ppg for junior players in this draft.. Obviously not including Matthews or fins... Tkachuk and dubois as you listed and then nylander at 1.38 and then Brown at 1.25... Which is why it's tkachuk or dubois case closed mwuahaha |

It would have been cool if they did live in it... the whole in-laws dynamic...
on another note, I wonder if the Islanders would be a fit for Lucic if JT needs a winger? and they hold onto Hamonic. - hillbillydeluxe
The Islanders didn't impress me at all this playoffs. They still need a few pieces before they start acquiring guys like Lucic. I hope they keep integrating their young prospects into their lineup. They could be a force in a few seasons if they play it right. |
