Lucic is going to the Oilers. |

It wont be our choice.
It will either be Edmonton or the team they trade the pick to for a D-man.
Edmonton SHOULD pick Tkachuk because he's a winger, but they are pretty stupid when it comes to 1st rounders.
Taylor Hall & the 4th for Subban, and Montreal picks Dubois. - classic321
Hall and the 4th? Jesus Chireli would be crucified. Hall Mcdavid Draisaitl are your pieces moving forward. Did Hall turn into a scrub? Adding a 4th overall is over the top for Subban. |

Very true, but it's not a given that Griess will continue playing lights-out next regular season. The original question was if Lucic was a good fit for the islanders. They are going to need more than a hot goalie and Tavares to carry them through a long season and possibly a long playoff run. They have improved so much, just hope Snow doesn't (frank) it up.
Lucic doesn't seem like a good fit for them IMO. - bloatedmosquito
Tavares and Greiss carried them to the second round. |

So assuming Pittsburgh wins the Cup, which I'm pretty sure they will, that'll give them four Stanley Cups. Since expansion that puts them in pretty good company.
Montreal - 10
Edmonton - 5
NYI's - 4
Pittsburgh - 4
Detroit - 4
New Jersey - 3
Boston - 3
Chicago - 3
Philadelphia - 2
Colorado - 2
Los Angeles - 2
NYR - 1
Calgary - 1
Dallas - 1
Anaheim - 1
Carolina - 1
Tampa - 1
Everyone else zero - LeftCoaster
If Vancouver wins a cup there will be nothing interesting to talk about other than why didn't it happen sooner |

Nope, didn't cost a thing. |

No.
Bonino for Conn Smythe and Sullivan for coach of the year. Kessel honourable mention. As we all know the trolls are just salivating right now...

I liked the Sbisa trade. Don't think the Montreal one was enough. |

Was listening to 1040 and they are saying that there is talk of them trading the 5th overall pick? Would/could they be that stupid? Does anyone know what the rumors are if any? Or is it typical BS from those guys? |

JB and Co. are looking at all options. Don't worry, he will do what is best for the team. |

- 2.8 mill for baertschi is too much. he didn't prove that much last year.
- Hall and 4th for Subban is too much. What is left on D for MTL if they move PK? I also believe if they ever did move PK, that his contract actually hurts his value to a small degree.
- I was joking earlier with my Tkachuk/Dubois comment. Glad LordH (someone) noticed.
- Eriksson is the only FA I keep coming up with. However, JB may have to overpay to get a guy like him. I know all UFA's are generally overpaid. But, to sell a 30 year old on joining a "retooling" "rebuilding" team, over a contender won't be easy. But take all those injuries away and add 30 + goals (like Vrbata 1st year) and this team looks a lot better. Also, some stability on D with Guddy. Not a contender, but certainly not a bottom feeder. a Healthy top 3 at centre is key too. |

How is he a douche? He didn't work out, it happens. Fell down the depth charts. Be nice if he signed with Utica and was a call up. |

Its a bit early to say that move would be stupid, thats like saying Brian Burke was stupid for trading away the 1st overall pick in 99, when clearly he valued the Sedin's and he knew that Atlanta wasnt going to take them. If JB has a preference for a particular player and knows teams have him further down their charts, then why not explore the option? |

Casey Cizikas just got 3.33 for one 30 point season.
Kassian got 1.5 for 8 points. |

Would ARZ move the 7th and 20th for the 5th? Would you take that? If Tkachuk/Dubois are valued so much higher than others, perhaps you even get more. I'd still keep the 5th. Unless ARZ wants to severely overpay. Benning hasn't got quantity (picks) over the years, but you can't say he hasn't got quality. A great 1st draft..
Perhaps next year he'll start adding picks. Having to move 2nds etc to fill in those void years has hurt our stock of picks. |

That deal might be worth it but I dont see Arizona moving up for TKachuk or Dubois they are desperate for defense unless they look to fill holes via free agency. |

ouch. thats a JB signing
I'd give Baer 2.25. Just like I'd give Sbisa 3 and Dorsett 2.
1.675 savings (forgive me if I'm wrong)
JB handed out just a little too much. But it adds up.

Inflation is a female dog.
If you give 2.8 it would be over a couple of years. With his increase in yearly production at the end of 3 or 4 years 2.8 could be a good contract. |
