Definitely is no star
Something with that line ...they just have crazy good chemistry - Redmile247
When he was here his line mates we old and slow. Not his fault . He was invisible for 40 games here. You have no other choice than to move that player. Slow centers with slow wingers seldom work out well.
That is why when I see people say they want Higgins Burrows and Hamhuis back I scratch my head. |

It's interesting how this happens in the playoffs.
The stars are being largely neutralised by the other team and it means that 3rd and 4th line players are determining the outcomes of the games.
It sure helps that Kessel is playing on the 3rd line, but as Carol mentioned, all sorts of unsung dudes are getting on the scoresheet.
Maybe WDs idea of rolling 4 lines evenly is not so crazy after all...maybe having $4 million + players on 3rd and 4th line is not bad management either??
Just spitballing... - dbot
I am a big believer of this. People wonder why I pay so much attention to third and fourth line players. It was guys like Ladd Brouwer Bolland that did a lot of damage as the top lines played even.
Look how Ferland and Engelland single handedly destroyed the Canucks. |

Dorsett shut down Crosby a few years back . Dorsett is a very decent fourth liner but when you ask him to shut down teams stars, fight all the fights , kill the penalties and try to score in key situations , it may be too much. He needs help on the fourth line. |

I kind of hope Benning signs Paul Guastad to a one year deal, solid defensively and big and good at faceoffs. Have a fourth line of Gaunce-Gaustad-Dorsett |

Rather get someone younger or promote from within, he hasn't put up good numbers or played a full season in awhile. get younger not older. |

I am not sure Tryamkin is a fighter and I am not sure if Pedan is an NHLer. |

Seems like Dreger gets paid a lot of money to tell us stuff we already know. We have been discussing this for weeks |

JB could look at something like:
5OA+Tanev+Burrows(cap)+Hansen for Scheifele+Trouba+22OA+36OA
Would need to spend most of our cap on Trouba/Scheifele. But the retool is done, and he can now focus on drafting while able to compete for playoffs. |

I would take if w/o the picks IMO, but that is something I would like to see if 5OA is moved. Tanev is worth slightly more than Trouba, and Scheifele is worth around the same, maybe slightly more than a 5OA, Burrows and Hansen for Cap(Trouba and Scheif need money) and the extra picks. |

Tanev is so underrated. And he has a good cap hit. I don't put alot into analytics but Tanev looks much better if you look under the hood so to speak. Edler or Sbisa are the ones that need to be considered in a trade and thas more farfetched.
Sbisa is even a bit underrated. Can't remember the article, may be the one with the Sbisa trade proposals, and the amount of hits the guy has compared to some is quite alot different. He has weaknesses for sure but he hits alot. Could be why he is out of position often but if he could find a reliable partner he wouldn't be so bad I don't think. Not a great defenseman but a complimentary one. His cap hit is a bit much but I think he's tradeable. Just not league wide which would lower his value. I still think JB has to be hoping to unload him at the draft. Wishful thinking maybe but we can dream. |

Winnipeg has one of the best GM's in the league.
And this trade makes Winnipeg older, and a lot WORSE. |

I feel the same way about Sbisa.
I thought he played pretty well last year and remember a lot of ppl admiting that they were wrong about him and saying he was playing good until he got injured.
I'm not totally sure about why he has a rep of being awful, but i suppose it has something to do with people wanting to get more for Kesler.
I think he has value and JB will attempt to trade him in the offseason. If not, i'm happy with him at #5 on D. |
