This is the exact the reason i think trading down makes sense sometimes.
Getting attached to picks is not my style at all.
Every GM should leverage picks if it helps the team IMO.

- Nighthawk

I agree it does make sense sometimes and it definitely should have been a consideration especially with how weak the top end of that draft class was (although I'm not sure if people realized it as much at the time).

But I think a better option for the Oil with that pick would have just been trading it out-right for established help like they are rumored to be doing this year.

The only move I could see would be Sbisa if Hamhuis res-signs.
- fiveandagame

Sbisa is our biggest banger atm.
If moved & Hammer is back its at our price & cheap at that.
Say 2.8m/2yrs n 8 team NTC maybe.
Just spitballing lol

True in hindsight but back then it was so obvious that should have happened.
As of today the Oil could not have lost out if they had done that IMO

That has possibilities.
I think we could wait out CBJ better n let them sweeten it up more.
Just supposing that is cuz if not then nothing is lost.

With Burrows/Higgins on last hear of a contract i see no need for a BO.
1 year is not a make or break situation.
Vey still can prove himself & Granlund can be expansion fodder.
As for Sbisa & Edler we need them as depth. Both have value for us yet.
Maybe next year or the TDL they will be moveable assets.

- Nighthawk

I'm just looking at the lineup and wondering if we will have to expose anyone to waivers beyond the 23 man roster.

Henrik Daniel UFA
Baertschi Sutter Hansen
Burrows Bo Rodin
Dorsett Vey Etem
Granlund JV Higgins

Edler Tanev
Hutton Gud
Sbisa Tryamkin
Pedan, Biega, Larssen (unsigned?)

Miller Markstrom

Maybe start JV in Utica, waive Higgins and Biega?

(ignore the lines, just wondering who will be on the roster)

Logjam on D atm.
Not likely til another deal is done moving a D or 2 is my guess.

Dumping Tyutin isn't worth that much. Especially when you have to take Sbisa back.

I've played the roster game so often i see it as waiting til JB has signed UFA's & the draft is done trading is over. Currently we seem pretty full up for our 2016 roster.

Its only about a 700-800 thousand cap relief for CBJ

Yeah not worth it imo unless CBJ has a serious problem with Tyutin's NMC and the upcoming expansion.

Would an RW in Pulju be better or worse from an organizational need stand-point for the Nucks vs a LW like Tkach or C like Dubois?

Looking at it, there is an expectation of more moves. Gaunce could make the team and we could see someone waived to make room. I hope Burrows either makes the team or is traded, don't want to see him waived at training camp.

Sbisa is a salary dump, he's not good at hockey, he hits for 3.6 million!

Benning wants to compete now, I don't see anymore moves.

If Benning wants to win now he better make more moves

Its definitely time for Gaunce. Its prolly make or break time.
I see him as a 4th liner & backup 4C or in the press box next season.
The PK is a role he must be ready for as well IMO

Cute, in the HNIC opening montage they show kessel in a leafs jersey on the bench hanging his head in shame then it transitions to a pens jersey and he looks up

I love how you and CanuckDon need to refer to me as 'little pr!ck' or 'little man' in some pathetic attempt to make yourselves feel bigger.

I didn't even resort to this baseless (frank)ing name calling, I was commenting on the criticism of the Habs you made.

But yeah, continue to resort to talking down in a desperate attempt to make yourself feel like a special big man.

One thing about JB he is not here to accept losing.
No GM is worth crap if not. He is competitive & it shows.
