I wonder how JB feels about Puljujarvi? Would cost an arm and a leg to jump up to #3. - dbot
What about the 2nd rounder they owe us from torts? We get PUL and they get Dubois.
I honestly thing PUL could be the best player in the draft. |

I think you mean Benning would throw it in. It's not really moving up enough in terms of skill level to warrant anything else honestly. - manvanfan
Yeah, that's what i'm not sure of.
There has been a lot of hype around these parts re Dubois and Tkatchuk, but i wonder what JB thinks. Pulijarvi could be significantly better than those other 2, and if thats what JB and CBJ think, it could cost a bit to move up to get him.
2nd round Torts pick plus a prospect i'd suspect (plus the 5th obviously) |

ARE YOU NUTS!!!!
Your helping a team get out of cap hell. You don't help them out. You fleece them the same way the islanders did for boychuk and dallas did for sharp. - manvanfan
I loved what the Islanders did there. Great trades turned there franchise around almost over night. |

Could be.
He's not discussed much anymore around here, but could be.
I'd be pretty hyped to pick him up personally. |

I think we would need to include their 2nd that we own as well as a scenario where we clear some significant cap.
Tyutin and 3 for Hansen 5 and 2nd round pick ? - belcherbd
Hansen wouldnt waive his NTC to go to CBJ he hates torts. |

No actually dont hate that one, but thats the only one. I would have liked it alot more if he hadnt been dealing 2nd rounders the last couple years. The prospect depth just keeps getting worse and worse.
I still would have liked the full rebuild and think what the canucks are doing is a massive mistake by trying to speed things up shipping out all of our picks. - mauryballstein
Vey was bad, but Sven was worth it. The Sutter trade was only a difference of 55-64, who cares at that one, and one for Gudbranson, which is not bad asset management. I am pretty sure those are the only 2nd's that were traded(could be wrong) and 2 were acquired before ultimately traded away. we still had our 2nd in 2014, traded the TB to LA in 2014. So really only 2 of ours traded away, and we still have an extra one n 2017 or 2018. I am also pretty sure that we will trade Sbisa/Hansen. Vey was the only instance where the 2nd was not worth it, IMO. |

It is limited. He has to provide a list upon request. He just gets a say where he goes, to a certain extent. |

The guy was better than both mathews and laine at world jr, and just dominated the U18s while being sick. I wonder if he could move to center eventually? Has slick play making skills. |

According to polled scouts Tkachuk may be just as good as Puljujarvi. |

like i said before i would rather have andersson over sven and those goal totals could have been replaced by signing mathis or someone to a one year deal and we could have then dealt him at the deadline for picks.
The only deal i dont hate is the gudbranson one. |

That is never an issue. He gives the list, and ou ask CBJ what he wants from the teams on that list that Hansen could fetch. This is why 3 way deals exist. |

Too bad JB doesn't know about this, he could have traded Vrbata at tdl. |

Would you guys entertain an idea like
5OA(+?) for 9OA+Nathan Beaulieu+39OA?
Maybe throw Higgins in as a cap dump.
Than trade Edler for a top 15 draft pick(if he waives)
Both trades would require Edler to waive first. - Retinalz
So bealieau the 9th and a 2nd to move up 4 spots? Keep dreaming. |

If they are really high on a C like Keller or Brown would they risk moving the 3OA and pick say 7 but lose out on the player they want?
I agree that they can likely get more from a team picking in 6-10 spots but it also comes with more risk they don't get the player they covet. - belcherbd
I think if they are serious about getting a C they either trade for one or they draft Dubois.

And yet people still consider Snow a garbage GM. Many in the Isles fans wanted him fired (but not as badly as Capuano) after they lost this year. |

Sure, but that's not what Bob was suggesting. He was suggesting that they liked Keller/Brown as a C not Dubois. |

Each spot in top 10 would require approx a 2nd each, the closer to 1OA you want the more it costs. once you get passed the 5th it probably costs a 2nd+3rd for each spot(estimated). The Talent gap between 5-9 is pretty big. Talent gap seems to be top 3, then 4/5, then 6-10. |

Yeah I know, in that case I think it would make more sense to move down. But I just don't think it makes sense for CBJ to do that considering those 2 guys are likely a couple years out from making an impact. |

So our prospect depth is worse now than under Gillis? Genius |

If Murray had been playing like this all season, then i would consider giving him the nod.
I guess i just don't like the idea of giving a hot goalie so much credit (although i recognise the importance). Crosby has played well, is the captain literally and figuratively that drives that ship.
There were other hot goalies that would probably be contenders for the Conn Smythe (TB, SJS, Wash) but they didn't make it to the finals...i give Sid the credit for that, along with the rest of the team, not just Murray. - dbot
Conn smythe is about the playoff MVP. The regular season has no bearing it what so ever. |

It wouldn't be that far fetched if Dubois went at 3. |
