I don't think u have to structure it that way though
Sure, u need some young, cheap guys...
But u can spread them out like Pitt did
Their 3rd like was higher paid that their top2 lines if I'm correct
Eventually, we will have to make tough choices
But I think we've got some time before that happens - jdfitz77
Yeah, after i typed that, Pittsburgh did come to mind how they spread their big money players over 3 lines. The thing with Kane is, his contract is up a year after the expansion draft. So, like we said earlier, he has another year to prove himself. But if he doesnt, are we supposed to give him a raise? A long term deal? Plus, we'll have kids in rochester knocking on the door of the big club to play. I dont hate Kane like a lot of people do here. I just look at the timing of his contract. This will be a big year for him. |

Kane is still a young, talented player
As of now, there's nothing he's been charged with or convicted of
Idk that we'd get back equal value,
But I'm sure there's plenty of GMs that would be interested - jdfitz77
Hes been in the League for 7 years If he hasn't changed now he's never going to change .. He should be a leader of the team and vet

they have to trade him now they're gonna lose him in the expansion draft for sure
Or is he protected already |

He does need to be protected, but you think Tampa would leave Drouin unprotected? That's stupid talk. With their roster today they'll have to leave one of Killorn or Namestnikov unprotected. |

Well, we have to expose a certain percentage of our cap. So we may end up exposing kane and Foligno.
If kane picks it up, im all for it. But when he was traded for, he was touted as a "30 goal scorer" and he ended up with 35 points total.
And we can definitely both agree that he has a year to show us otherwise.
If he blows us out of the water, then Murray has some tough decisions to make. Especially if he signs Vesey. May be Nylander is eased in on the 3rd line in 2017-18? - seedy
That didn't make it in to the final cut. Vegas has to draft a certain amount of cap space, but teams have no "quota" to expose. If you look around the league you can find enough junk contracts. Every team has a few. And only one player per team can be picked, so it should be fairly easy to get there. |

For me, it's not so much about where the $$$ is spread out,
But where the talent is spread out
Like I mentioned before for next year, how about a 3rd line of
Nylander-Reinhart-Bailey
Let teams try & match up with that! |

Ok, gotcha
In that case, I could see them take Gorges
If Moulson can net near 20goals this year, maybe they take him off our hands
That's probably just wishful thinking though
I think at this point, I'd be happy if Moulson scored 12goals next year |

I would just trade them for picks because you know you're gonna lose them
That's why I think this deadline is going to be insane |

Seems to be the going rumour, but I don't think I've heard it from any sources that are generally reliable. |

I'd love to snag him

Hahaha
All I'm saying, is that some guys "get it" later on
Is Kane ever gonna be Jagr?
Of course not
But he does play the game the right way and it's not too late for him to get his head on straight |
|
|

Moving Kane at this point would be incredibly stupid, especially dumping him for nothing. I'm the first one to criticize his immaturity, and want him to clean up his act, but he hasn't been convicted of anything, and he makes our team better. Dumping him one year after giving up so many assets for him makes no sense. |

He works for TSN ..
If the report wasn't true then why didn't the Sabres just smash it and just come out and say it's not true ? |

No offense to Laraque but I've never known him to be much of an insider. And that logic is like saying big foot is real because the government never came out and said he wasn't. |
|

I never liked the trade much to begin with, but it happened, and dumping the main asset from the deal would be a show of GMing similar to Mike Milbury. |

Its "rumored to be" 25% of the teams total payroll.
But again, Kanes contract expires the year after. And unless he has an epic 16-17 season, why not expose him? What are we going to do? Re sign him for even MORE money than he already makes for delivering 35 points?
Dude is an average hockey player making an above average salary. |

Well the Buffalo Sabres do own that station so that would be the reasoning for smashing it .. So you're telling me if you owned a radio program and they were giving out lies about your employees .. You wouldn't call them out
