I think we stand a better chance of getting Nash than Landeskog. - mhp
Agreed
Landeskog is just a better fit for us long term
I think NYR needs to get rid of him badly though,
So I wouldn't give up much for Nash
If someone else wants to,
I won't be upset about missing out on him |

Great article. I think the point about Vesey not wanting to play in Boston comes from Jimmy Hayes and his family with their experiences. If it truly is down to Buffalo and Toronto I think the obvious answer is Buffalo. Toronto is going to have another terrible season and who knows how they will be in two years. Vesey would have more competition in Toronto, as well, with all of the prospects they have coming up through the ranks. |

How about if Vesey doesn't sign here within say the next 10 days, we trade his rights and Kane to say Colorado for Landy? Then go get Nash to fill in until Nylander has developed more and becomes bigger/stronger. - IonSabres

He turned down the Preds and they are a better team then all the other teams mentioned for him,
Sabres
Rangers
Bruins
Islanders
Leafs
Maybe Red Wings and Hawks.
Why would he sign now. - SABRES 89
I think he waits till August but that doesn't mean he won't be a Sabre. I doubt he comes to Toronto. I don't think the dad issue means anything and we have lots of young wingers. |

What would the supposed asking price for Hoffman be? Intriguing goal scorer, fast, 26 y/o. Fits the team we're building.

Just getting annoyed with Toronto Based media throwing crap out there for click bait these days and then how it spreads like wild fire through all the threads.
Stupid Mirtle tweets out Avs are about to do something big here and it has ballooned to Avs are going to trade landeskog now.
TSN has been convinced that the Avs are going to trade Duchene, Barrie, Landeskog now for a full calendar year, clearly they don't have reliable sources with that team and just are talking out of their butts.
Gets my hot takes going when I see this sort of stuff |

If he's actually on the block, then maybe
Prob depends how they feel about those prospects
I think Malone can end up being a really good bottom6 guy in the league...
IF
He can stop getting hurt
I'd trade Carrier in a heartbeat,
I think he'll just be a decent bottom6 guy
Cornel is the only guy with potential to be more than a bottom6 forward IMO

They're headed for 2nd straight arbitration, safe to say both sides aren't pleased. Doubt he's on the block, but I cant see Ottawa being too hesitant to move him. They're also a budget team. I would send Girgensons to Ottawa but I'm not sure they'd be willing to pay what he wants. I'd see which prospects they like from us (not named Nylander, Guhle, Bailey, Fasching) and go from there. |

I think I'd wait and see what Ennis does rather than give up assets for Hoffman. If Ennis returns to his 12-13 pts/60 production he will be close to Hoffman, output wise, without giving anything up. I know it's a big if but is Hoffman really the guy to put this team over the edge? |

Well trading ROR last year certainly didn't help anyone think that Sakic isn't prone to impetuous decisions. |

I think thats not a true statement, they did think that through since a completely different situation from what the MSM guys are pining for, when you have a RFA, pending UFA who has no intentions signing with the team, then their hand is forced even though they didn't want to do the move and all along wanted to try and make something work out.
Saying that the Avs need to trade a core player out of the blue "bc their D is bad" is just such a lazy storyline even though if they would listen to what Sakic and Roy have been saying for years is that the best way to get a Top Dman is the draft and develop them yourself. |

I'd move Fasching if it was the right trade
We'll likely have to give up something we won't want in order to get the type of player back we're looking for
Out of the guys u listed,
Fasching is the one o could most easily part with
I also think he'd have the most value |
