I'd move Fasching if it was the right trade
We'll likely have to give up something we won't want in order to get the type of player back we're looking for
Out of the guys u listed,
Fasching is the one o could most easily part with
I also think he'd have the most value - jdfitz77
I would include Fasching in a deal for Hoffman given that we were confident in signing him, which we likely would be. It's unlikely a player of his calibre becomes available, and I doubt Ottawa wants to part ways with him. We have assets of value to offer for him. We may have to pay a fairly steep price but it would be worth it for a guy who could fit right in to our top 6 and help us claim a playoff spot. |

Did we get Stamkos yet? - jochfr
Nope it was inevitable that he signs with Toronto..... |

I'd do Fasching and a 3rd for Hoffman highest I could go would be a 2nd |

That's probably a good starting point. I'd rather wait on Vesey first, but Hoffman would be a great backup option to play Jack's wing. I'd also like to see Hudler signed 2 years $6M but I can't see it happening with the log jam we have in our bottom 6. |

Well trading ROR last year certainly didn't help anyone think that Sakic isn't prone to impetuous decisions. - Wetbandit1
He traded ROR because he was never going to stay in Colorado, two totally different scenarios. |

He was traded O'Reilly because of bs inflated contract value (due to the offer sheet) and the control of the locker room between Duchene and O'Reilly. |

Idk that Hoffman is the right guy for us
He's definitely a good goal scorer
But if we're going to give up an asset like Fasching, I wanna make sure it's the right fit for us
I'm not saying I don't like Hoffman,
There's just others I'd prefer
But who knows if they'd be available
Probably not |

I think thats not a true statement, they did think that through since a completely different situation from what the MSM guys are pining for, when you have a RFA, pending UFA who has no intentions signing with the team, then their hand is forced even though they didn't want to do the move and all along wanted to try and make something work out.
Saying that the Avs need to trade a core player out of the blue "bc their D is bad" is just such a lazy storyline even though if they would listen to what Sakic and Roy have been saying for years is that the best way to get a Top Dman is the draft and develop them yourself. - DDM-Coga
Whether it's true or not is irrelevant. It's the perception that matters. And these guys who have nothing else will run with it. The same way everyone ran with the Kane is gone thing. Because Murray makes moves.
It is funny that their defense is bad but everyone is running their only good defensemen out of town. Like that makes any sense. |

He was trying for Hoffman before uncle Brian stepped down and they hired a new coach, that has now changed. His arbitration hearing is tomorrow and they have the cap space to sign him. |

He would've if he had gotten a contract. Colorado didn't want to do that, so he was moved. And I guess I was talking more about Barrie which is the exact same scenario. Not so much about Landeskog. How many of us have said you do what you have to do to keep/get elite guys? Now it's one shipped out last year another one in Barrie who's had rumors swirling for months primarily because Sakic moved ROR. Otherwise it'd be "you'd have to be crazy to give him up!". |

No disrespect 89, but everyone is on the block, the question is what is the priice,Yep, like PK wasn't, neither was Myers, Gretz, the list goes on...and on.
I doubt Col would move him, just like Eichel (this is for you Coda) isn't likely to be moved ... Until the right offer comes along.

The only way we get him is if they walk now
The can't trade him for a year if they sign him correct after the hearing |

Likely going to be a hole at LW for us. Vesey may sign, but even still it's no lock for him to be a solid top 6 guy. Once we get a top 6 LW and a true top 2 D to play with Risto we will be a contender. That's a tall task, of course. Still would like to see Hudler signed for more veteran leadership, to help with Fasching, Bailey, and obviously Jack & Sam. Seeing how he played with Calgary's young guns leads me to believe that he'd be invaluable to our young team. |

I'm with the Clown, the Sabres need goal scoring, badly ... Get a sniper to bury the puck from Eichel and Reinhart dishes....we need that. I love guys who play a 200 ft game, but having a sniper burying the puck is critical as well.
Seems like the Sabres are loading up on 200 ft guys...which is awesome, but we also have room for a proven goal scorer...and if he doesn't play 200 ft so be it ... Neither does Ennis. |

I know this, Hence "Severly Over Pay." People on here got to stop trading our garbage for top 6 young players, atleast make it realistic. |

I think we could all list plenty of guys better than Hoffman
But are they available?
And for what price?
Landeskog for one
Taylor Hall would've been great
I think RNH is underrated
Nash is an interesting idea, mostly bc I think we can get him VERY cheap
The Ducks & Preds almost certainly have to trade a defenseman,
Possibly 2
I don't believe that Lindholm has signed yet
I'd offer sheet the hell outta Kucherov
They've got other forwards they won't be able to pay if they sign him
I like Kilorn quite a bit
Just some of the ideas I like
I wouldn't be upset at all of we got Hoffman...
But again, at what price? |

Has much more to do with Pegula than Murray. Murray is probably the kind of guy who couldn't care less, Pegula hosting the draft and having that happen is a whole other story. |

He's not on the block, all this talk about Landeskog started after the news broke of Kane being in trouble again. Some seem to think the AVS will move Landeskog for Kane but why would they do that ? and Murray isn't doing anything with Kane until he knows what the outcome will be with him. |

I would consider the Kane+ for Rick Nash but putting Kane in the city probably makes his situation worse IMO. I'm not one that wants to give up on Kane as of yet but Big Z got 3 strikes and he was gone, it was actually a couple more but only 2 or 3 times that was made public, |
