its the same tactic that Newport has done over and over again, ROR, PK, Petro, etc. They will draw it out right till the 11th hour before arbitration and settle on a deal that squeezes out an extra few pennies

Also got to look at it like this. He gets a bridge deal for 9 over 2 year, then signs for 6 for 6, he makes more money. Over the long run. But I'm hoping for a long term deal now. 5 years or 6.

What are the thoughts on passively signing Sam Gagner to a cheap contract? Guy has skill could possibly be a plug player in our top 9 as rant/ (dark horse to make the club) compher get a bit more seasoning? Plus a bit more competition at camp. I would like to see Grigs earn that top 6 role. But he did impress at the end of the season, 7points in 15 games...
