Yes, the greatest trade in Canuck history, without this trade there is no Sedins and no Luongo. |

Dan Quinn & Garth Butcher for Cliff Ronning, Geoff Courtnall, Sergio Momesso, Robert Dirk and a fifth-round draft pick
(frank) me, can you imagine if there was Twitter back then! Taj would be screaming bloody murder that Benning just gave up a 40 goal scorer in Dan Quinn for a bunch of plugs |

I absolutly loved the '94 team. One of my prized possessions is a framed, signed picture of Linden hugging Mclean after game 6 of the SCF. Blood all over Linden's jersey. |

My favorite as well. I know people will argue the point, but, those 92/93 & 93/94 teams were the best ever for me. |

So Benning is looking for a big left winger to play on the 2nd line...Jamie McGinn 6'1", 210 lbs....signed a very cap friendly 3 yr in the desert...just sayin' - PuckShack
What are you saying? Perhaps they didn't like him as a player or perhaps he had no interest in playing in Vancouver. It takes two to sign a deal |

Just saying he's a big LW that can score and was cheap exactly what Benning says he's looking for. |

I suspect he's probably just negotiating. Maybe a bit frustrated by the pace of the talks. Even Berger said in the comments below that original tweet that he thinks the deal will get done.
Still, fun to speculate... - Carol Schram
I'm going to assume that you weren't around when Berger was the Leaf blogger here. He out did Garth in trolling the Leafs. Definitely the last guy in the world a respected agent would leak to (maybe second last after Simmond). |

A big physical LW that can score isn't signing for 3 and change per season. Just saying McGinn ticks most boxes and wouldn't have cost assets. Unless a team is in cap trouble that player comes with a cost. I'd rather not have Benning trade anymore assets. |

Maybe you didn't understand when it was suggested that he may have not wanted to sign here. |

Naslund at the deadline was just as lopsided if not more.
A 21 year old who scored 1 point in 56 games.
for
Naslund who was also 21 but had 52 points in 63 games. |

Bert, Allan and Auld for Luongo, Krajicek and a 6th was a steal as well.
Bert was effectively injured as soon as traded if i remember, looks like he played 8 more season and never scored over 18 goals/year.
Allen was effectively a 5-6 Dman and Auld an avg backup goalie.
I remember being thrilled with that deal when it was signed. |
