Bert, Allan and Auld for Luongo, Krajicek and a 6th was a steal as well.

Bert was effectively injured as soon as traded if i remember, looks like he played 8 more season and never scored over 18 goals/year.
Allen was effectively a 5-6 Dman and Auld an avg backup goalie.
I remember being thrilled with that deal when it was signed.

It's been a great walk down memory lane with you guys today, quite a nice distraction from JB being the worst GM in confidence league wide.

So who will be trade bait for this top 6 forward Kuzma has us acquiring?

I think it was mentioned by Benning that he would try to unload a less friendly contract (Burrows/Sbisa) and a nice prospect(?). At least that's all I've heard.

He said he's not trading Hansen so I assume he's trading Hansen

You think I want to have sex with A steaming Lombardi?

I mean I tried a Cleveland Steamer once and that was enough...

Not sure that's really an enticing package for a top 6 scorer, although depending on a nice prospect.

I agree. Not incredibly enticing but I think it would vastly depend on who they are interested in and what that particular team is after. I could imagine we would have to sweeten the pot quite a pot.

When they continually state top 6 scorer, we know that Benning doesn't have the assets unless he sends a top prospect which we all hope doesn't happen. I would love to see our guys develop, but if he could pull off a Duchene or Landeskog...different ball game.

But I like your idea...sweeten the pot with pot, what are you thinking a few kilos

Knew this was going to happen. In the immortal words of Spocks . It is only logical

Sbisa ++ to absorb the cap hit of a "hockey trade", or roll the dice and stay over for the summer. Either way pucker up for the price when it goes down.

At least. Would have to heavily medicate whoever we trade with to make it easier.

and depending on the top 6 scorer.

Given all his off ice issues and locker room dramas with both Winnipeg and Buffalo, could see E Kane had for less (say Sbisa, Granlund and Gaunce). I think this is at least possible, and given Buffalo's depth, they could afford to cut bait with this guy and acquire some depth, but they could probably do better.

I agree that someone like Landeskog would cost a lot more (talking JV/Demko/Boesser ++) and i don't see that one happening.

The other less desirable option would be Eks rumour of acquiring Hudler for no assets

i know, right?
i don't see him as a fit at all, unless we're somehow trading a couple other wingers for assets.

No offense to Hudler, he's a decent player and i could see him on a line with the Sedins or whatever if we'd missed out on Loui, but given our roster, i think he's a bit 'excess to requirements'.

As good as Landeskog is, He would not be worth 2 top prospects and an NHL ready 20 y/o

i meant either or not all of the above listed ++.

I would not do Landeskog for JV + Boesser + Demko ++.
I would do Landeskog for JV, Burrows, Gaunce however.
I doubt Colorado would...

Trevor Linden for Bertuzzi, McCabe & Ruutu....best trade EVER!!!
- LeftCoaster

Linden was traded out of Vancouver, and his legacy is unfettered... Maybe the Sedins should waive in the same manner.. to come back in a similar role after retirement! What could we get for them... (kind of sort of kinda sarcastic maybe)

Why are you throwing in players like Burrows and Gaunce? No one wants them and it's really unrealistic as Colorado wants to win now!

Right now, I wouldn't trade any of those three kids. Because the team isn't in a position to win with Landeskog in the lineup, I mean win a Cup. You're cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Virtanen and Boeser could turn into Landeskog very shortly....have patience and build from within.
