Okay, so maybe somebody here can help me with this because I don't follow the Bills like I used to. So, C. Williams gets himself in trouble and suspended, and as a result we sign R. Bush, correct? So now we have McCoy and Bush as a 1-2 punch at running back, correct? But, I see on WGR that we signed Bush as a punt returner? That does not make much sense to me, can someone please explain this? I get that it is the Bills and therefore nothing makes sense, but I don't understand why Bush wouldn't be a #2 running back for us.
- sskkoo1

There's no reason he can't do both. They won't have him be exclusively special teams unless they have an RB that can take some heat off of McCoy. He'll probably be RB2 until week 5 unless Gillisle plays out of his mind at training camp

Doesn't the NHL have morals clauses written in to every contract? Wouldn't Mr. Kane's shenanigans cause the clause to be enforced? Sadly, the young man is a good player; just not all there in the maturity dept.
- RochesterSabre

So you want to lose him for nothing? He's on a short contract, isn't stopping us from making moves, and is expansion eligible if worst comes to worst. He plays this year unless we have something to replace him with. He either pulls it together and starts here next year too either being traded at the TDL or gets an extension if he's good enough, or he performs worse than we want and we either trade him, put him up for the expansion draft, or buy him out worst case scenario.

Losing him for nothing at this point is a bad move. At least try to trade him for anything.

Edit: Forgot to add that he also had 20 goals last year and should have had 20 more if he could hit the net or have chemistry earlier in the year with Jack or ROR. If the line to start is Kane-ROR-Okposo or Kane-Eichel-Sam then he could get his 30 goals. He just needs to stop being stupid. Fingers crossed

Or stay healthy. Or score on the PP

He had 6 PP points in 166 minutes
Franson had 7 in 40 less minutes.

I think people really over rate his offensive prowess. He's a decent top 9 guy who has elite speed and is a pain to play against. His 30 goal season is kind of like David Clarkson's. I wouldn't expect it again

tough question

steely dan, velvet underground, kansas, talking heads

CCR

All good choices....ZZTop too (Billy Gibbons was one of Hendrix's favorite guitarists).

I was thinking more under the radar, like Sonic Youth, Joan Jet...awesome live last week....even Loverboy. The late great Warren Zevon didnt get unough love.

If he got 20 with limited chemistry, not scoring on the power play, and not staying healthy then improving only 1 or 2 of those should increase his point totals. I don't think he'll come out and light up the power play and he'll likely play 70 games so him having had a full season with most of the players and under the coach is his real advantage over last year.

Good thing is our long-term future isn't make or break on Kane. Short-term he can help us, though.

Do we have a number of empty net goals by Kane? I'm not one that thinks they don't count but I'm just curious.

Edit: I looked. NHL.com still has it. He had 4 ENG. 2 PPG, 1 SHG, 4 1st Goals, 3 GWG. He can be a big part of this offense if he improves over last year.

If you mean that it'll be pretty well know of who is going where and the big names will already be gone, then yeah, I could see it.

For real though hopefully that's what we're waiting for to make a move. Otherwise you'd think that Girgensons would be signed already.

Most underrated/underappreciated North American band?:

I vote The Tubes. Saw them once back in the day and Fee Waybil was the best frontman ever.

I think he can improve. I wouldn't count on chemistry being too much of a factor though. It was one of his biggest issues in Peg. He was constantly shuffled to different lines because he couldn't be consistent

Beginning of the year none of the team had chemistry and the only one doing anything was ROR. Kane's point totals per month:
Oct: 3
Nov: 3
Dec: 7
Jan: 6
Feb: 7
Mar: 9

Stats might be a bit skewed since I believe he got hurt in late October to early November but it does look like he started to hit his stride as the season went on. Can be attributed to chemistry or also learning the coach's system. Either way you hope that more time improves it.

He was really good to end the year. Hopefully that translates (If he isn't in Vancouver)

I guess I just don't see him as a vital part of a top line like others do. I think a healthy Ennis will produce just as much, and you can replace his speed with someone like Bailey. Again this is only if they feel the need to dump him

Top 5 point getters and their totals next year, go.

1. Jack Eichel: 30-40-70
2. Ryan O'Reilly: 23-35-58
3. Kyle Okposo: 22-30-52
4. Sam Reinhart: 18-30-48
5. Evander Kane: 25-20-45

It's better than last year but I don't know if that's playoffs.

Edit: Amending Okposo's goals.

I'll agree with this. He isn't vital moving forward. For this year though I think if you move him without being sure how Ennis will be coming back you're risking a lot. If Bailey hits his stride in the NHL (he's a RW, not sure how much LW he's played) or Nylander makes it out of training camp that lowers the risk but right now that's a weak position for us. I don't think the offense goes as Kane does but I think you're a better team with him there and Ennis on the 3rd line than you are with Ennis on the 1st and no Kane at all.

I think okposo is probably 20-32-52. reinhart 20-35-55. everything else looks close.

Probably right. Only 22 last year and that was with some time with JT.

If that's the case I'll say that we need another pure goal scoring winger. If Nylander can be that in the future we're in luck. Only having 1 guy with the real chance of getting 30 goals is rough.

I was less bullish on Risto. I don't know how they're going to use him with Kulikov. If they basically tell Kulikov to rarely pinch and support him I think he could do that or better. If they make him play more of the defensive game I see him being closer to 40. That's more where I'm leaning.

Also depends how the power play does too.
