Let's make it to the playoffs first, eh? Where it stands right now the defense will be about average and the offense will be better than last year. That's a better team. We needed 12 points to make the playoffs. I feel like the growth of Jack and Sam and the addition of Kulilkov and Okposo get you at least 6 points. Then it's just a dice roll and it's about how do the pieces fall. Does Lehner get hurt. Does Price get hurt. Does Crosby collide with Malkin and both are out long term. Things you can't predict.

We've got a chance and it's more than I could say for the past few years so I'm on board.

My hopes and dreams are ready to be crushed again. Last year there were no expectations, the 2 years before that we were rooting to lose, and the year before that was just sad. It's time to put myself back out there.

I vote The Tubes. Saw them once back in the day and Fee Waybil was the best frontman ever.

Last year our back end rested with Bogo and Gorges and a backup goalie and we weren't losing games by 5 goals. We had the 16th best GA. With Kulikov taking Gorges place and Gorges being on the 3rd pairing we've gotten better. Lehner is healthy and can work out this offseason. He could get hurt, sure, but he did last year and we rode a career backup to a respectable record.

I get we should still upgrade the defense but I still don't get why people act like it's atrocious. If anything it's at least average.

BTW we let in 5 more goals than the Rangers, 2 less than Detroit.

I'd put those 3 as 3/4 D-men. I don't think they're all-star defensemen but I also feel they're good players who have their limits and flaws.

Risto is the key. Like you said if he plays well he's on fire. If he slows down he can sometimes look silly.

I'd still love to upgrade the defense. I'd be ecstatic if we somehow got Shattinkirk or Lindholm. I'd be happy if we got Fowler. But I'm also okay with the defense we have now.
