Show of hands, who didn't see these problems with Evander Kane coming? - Buffalo--Sabres
I didn't I thought it was all lies by the Winnipeg fans |
|
|

he pissed away the 4th rounder
could have signed someone and kept the pick
the extra picks should be used as pieces to build the pipeline or used to sweeten the trade
not wasted for a scrub - homiedclown
Overreact much? We do realize we can only have 50 players under contract right? Plus we have a ton of picks in next years draft again. |

waiting til the 15th for vesey doesn't change the void on d, or the lack of clarity with girgens or getting risto locked up though
instead of slamming beers at 716 he needs to get a few things accomplished before training camp
plus rochester is still a mess - homiedclown
You have been reading too much of sbroads stuff.
I think the Sabres are going to be good this year. and i'm happy about that. |

wasted a 4th rd pick for nilsson
depleted a deep prospect pool for ror, lehner, kane and bogo
honestly, if vesey walks, probably will
and kane is given up for the expansion draft
this team needs to compete this spring for murray to be safe
right now I am not sure we won the ror trade either - homiedclown
So "winning" a trade might have a few meanings. Winning today vs winning in a few years. Those trades were meant to be "hockey trades" we are known to be equal, just one now and one in the future. |

He traded Miller, Moulson and Ott for assets too and the Kane/Bogo trade enabled us to get Eichel. Not every trade works out perfectly, but anybody who thinks GMTM isn't getting re-upped is crazy.
Got Eichel - check
Improved by 27 points last year - check
Got arguably the top UFA - check
Team will improve by 10-20 points this year also - turbo044
Thank you turbo |

i'm with you on the nilsson thing...but one thing we know for sure, there will be no goaltender controversy....Lehner is the undisputed starter |

Its not about the wins/losses in terms of value to me. Its about what we brought in is doing for our team. We gave up a lot for ROR, but hes been great for the team so I call it a win for us.
Im not going to get mad over moving a 4th rounder for a backup. These days the team makes the goaltender in most cases. - Sabresfan-365
montoya, johnson, reimer would have cost zero assets

Yes we could have and that would have been better and I believe they tried and had a verbal agreement with one. But in a list of good and bad moves done by TM a 4th rounder for a back up isn't making either list because its a nothing move. |

defense will be fine...people forget that there are other aspects to a good defense corps like forward-support and good goaltending...
they have risto as a bona fide top-pairing d-man plus three top-four d-men in bogo, Kuli and gorges a young top-four d-man with upside in McCabe and a decent #4-6 in Franson
there's your top-six right there |

poop storm johnny as the back up goalie
slow as f@ck d men
fragile starting goalie
lots of question marks up front with kane, moulson, ennis, girgens
this team could be good, and it could be picking in the top ten |

Im a huge risto fan but bona fide is a stretch. Gorges just doesnt have it anymore and neither kuli nor bogo can handle top pairing minutes and matchups against the other teams top line. It's better, but it's not good enough yet. |

I believe that we will see two different tenures in Murray career. There will be the tenure where he made all out moves to bring big names to a franchise that couldn't attract them otherwise, in an effort to get the franchise out of the basement as quickly as possible (and kickstart the rebuild in a big way).
And a new tenure - now that the first one is over - where he goes at things a little more deliberately an in a more measured manner. That's why we're bored going over and over the same stuff - cause Murray is waiting for smart plays. |

the big thing is that he's been saying all along that those two years are crucial to maximizing his next contract...being in Chicago with that kind of firepower fits right into his plans...I think buffalo wins out over Toronto and boston, but I don't think they can compete with Chicago or even pittsburgh - Michael Pachla
Agree
And $$$ will eventually free up for the Hawks when Hossa retires or they find a way to trade him |
