Good call. Don't forgot about the cougars and bears that will gnaw on your skull as soon as you step outside. - Marwood
Yes there seems to be a large population of cougars on the island....not to mention the mountain lions.....they mount anything and are always lying about the age... |

Fastest growing community on the island. Over 25% of the population is under 18. A brewery, expanded pizza restuarant and a new taco shop. The Waverley Hotel has undergone a huge reno and we had a fly fishing shop open this spring. Village council is establishing the zoning and bylaws for marijuana dispensaries. Also, Cumberland has quickly become an international mountain biking destination.
Courtenay is strip malls and closed stores.
Comox is full of angry old people. - Marwood
So lots of work in Cumberland now? |

Because the biased eastern press rams it down out throats perhaps? - VanHockeyGuy

Never understood why Vancouver fans like to talk about the leafs so much. - ClarksonDavid
Because our "western" Sportsnet and TSN channels talk only about the Leafs, not the Canucks. So we have a lot of fuel for the hate fire. |

Except it's everywhere. Sports radio, sports highlights, print. And with everything getting centralized it's worse than it's ever been. It's not as simple as avoiding Leaf coverage, because that would entail avoiding sports coverage entirely in this country. |

I don't read it, and I turn the volume down when my team is playing. Shyte commentary. |

Sorry to say but majority think Leafs are doing well with their rebuild. They're a long ways away tho |

That's just eastern bias. The sad part is leafs fans read this article and believe every word of it. They would only be number one in a poll if they ranked the dumbest fan base. - Scooby_Doo

Geographically you're pretty close, I imagine there's local interest in those markets. Toronto and Vancouver aren't close.

Getting there. There is a video game design company that employs upwards of 30 people. The pizza and brewery employ over 40 people between the two businesses and 3 chiropractors have set up shop here. Sh1t's happening. |

Not on a national basis, you get the same crap shoved down your willing throat (Toronto fan) that everyone else hates.
You may get your local yocals discussing Calgary, Edmonton, like west coasters get 5mins of canucks updates, then we have to put up with the other 55 mins of the show with Toronto BS. |

Even the Google news feed spews Toronto fecal matter at you on a 24/7 basis. |

What is the housing market like? I want to move out of the Vancouver area, my Wife does as well, but we are worried about work as we would want to go right back into owning after we sell our current place. |

"The Canucks have no problem spending, but they don't often spend well. When Jim Benning isn't tampering, he's mortgaging the future for less than inspiring returns."
http://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/1064621 - Scooby_Doo
The article is a joke. You have teams that make the playoffs and are contending and teams that aren't. The last place team is given top honors in the article, and hasn't been to the playoffs in years.
Toronto could potentially be the best run organization but you would think winning would actually play a bigger part of the rankings than potential to win in the future... |

Housing is fraction of what it costs in Vancouver.
PM me and I'll give you further details. |

Good thing about the jets moving back. Watch the jets play instead of the leafs for the early game while having supper, then watch the Canucks after in the late game. |

Does anybody drive a newer SUV? I'm looking to get one. Hyundai Tucson, GMC Terrian, Honda CRV, Toyota RAV 4, Nissan Rogue. Acura RDX and BMW X3 are also on my list but i'd prefer buying from a Brandon dealership so I don't have to drive to WPG for maintenance. |

I test drove the 1.6T ultimate yesterday. It was nice, didn't wow me or anything even though it was fully loaded but i've always been a car guy. |
