Does anyone know if waiver order re-sets after the draft (for instance, since Toronto picked first, do they go to 30th place in the waiver order?)

Yes, I think I might be able to go on with my life now lol

Still, I think that's a bit unfair - the bottom teams are already benefiting from high picks, so why don't they move to the back of the line as concerns waivers going forward?

Since the expansion draft is going to set the Canucks back drastically, I'm joining Donna and becoming a Vegas fan.

Why continue to cheer for the Canucks when it's inevitable that we will lose Guance? Best to move onto Las Vegas now so we can enjoy his 40 goal season next year playing for the Las Vegas Super Vipers

JB will trade a 2nd rounder to get him back.

From the blog: "Most interesting here? Woodley's take on how the forward lines might shake down, including the ongoing question of who plays left wing on the second line."

Dorsett with the twins.

You'd hope no one decent gets waived. I think the idea was to create parity, even though different tax structures make that impossible.

Watching the Canada vs Sweden game, that Marner kid looks lost out there. I don't think he is NHL ready by any means.

if Dorsett played all 82 games and was even given some PP time with the twins he still wouldn't crack 10 goals - worst finisher ever

My summer assumptions didn't have you and Donna becoming vegans.

being the internet and all, I want to argue the "worst finisher ever" but I don't want to start another argument I'm gonna lose.

The Etem-Granlund-Dorsett line could very well be the best 4th line in hockey this season.

Waiver priority is set from the year prior until it resets on November 1st based upon the standing at that date. From that point on it is updated every day depending upon percentage of points.

Edit. It also has no bearing on whether Toronto picks first or not but rather where they were in the standings which was 30th. Had another team won the lottery they would still get first crack. Or for example the Canucks get 3rd crack despite picking 5th.
