Does anybody drive a newer SUV? I'm looking to get one. Hyundai Tucson, GMC Terrian, Honda CRV, Toyota RAV 4, Nissan Rogue. Acura RDX and BMW X3 are also on my list but i'd prefer buying from a Brandon dealership so I don't have to drive to WPG for maintenance.

Subaru Forester is nice too if you have a dealership in the area... I keep seeing the adds that Subaru have a high resale value, owners hold onto them. VW Tiguan looks interesting, I've been driving a jetta for awhile and like the one touch up and down on all the windows and the driving feel.

I've never had a ford but the new escapes are nice, and you can get a sportier eco turbo engine too. and they keep advertising employee pricing.

I test drove the 1.6T ultimate yesterday. It was nice, didn't wow me or anything even though it was fully loaded but i've always been a car guy.

We bought a pre-owned 2006 with low mileage. Once the sh!t tires were replaced by the lying, cheating dealership, we were really happy with our purchase. Just drove back from Terrace (over 1300 k ) with no problems.

No subaru dealership unfortunately, i've always liked the Forester. I have always been a VW/Audi guy actually. I have a 2013 VW Jetta dirty diesel. I had a 2004 Audi A4 till the heater core blew a couple years ago. Owned that for 7 years, best car ever! When it broke down, since I already have the Jetta; I went out and bought a 2014 Cruze Eco because I travel for work. I'd look at the Tiguan but it is a bit small. Want extra space.

Fix or repair daily
Found on road dead..... Don't appeal to me at all

Engines with Turbos are my fancy!

Sounds about right. I gave the dealership a receipt for $680 for 4 bridgestones from Costco.

Tiguan next year is supposed to be a little bigger, new platform, with the third row seating.

I had an A4 Avant 2002 for awhile, loved it but wifey couldn't drive the stick so ended up getting rid of it and picked up a 2008 Jetta GLI with the dsg and that is still going strong.

I have never owned a Ford but I think I'd recommend an Escape over a GMC Terrain. I've heard more than a few bad things/experiences with the Terrain.

My parents have a Nissan Rogue. It is a few years old, before backup cameras became standard, but they like it and the great fuel economy, better than the CRV they had before it.

Lots of great options. enjoy the test drives.

Insane SUV tires. I have 17" on my Jetta, Cooper tires (great tires) usually put them on all my vehicles after the originals wear out. $135 a tire. Yet the hankook were 18" and a $100 more.

When I bought snows for my Jetta, it was cheaper to buy 16" rims and tires than just 18" snows for the existing rims.

Yeah I've been test driving and nothing has wow'd me even close to saying yes yet. My fiancee can't drive a standard either. All of my cars have been standard including my ECO cruze. That's partially why i'm getting an SUV is because if I want to take the Jetta then she can drive the other vehicle. To have to two cars just doesn't make sense to me. Plan on having a second child someday.

That's what I hate about vehicles these days. I want leather seating so even though there is 5 different models of the SUV only 1 or 2 of them has leather and they are the most expensive models. They also come with every add on, sunroof, power lift gate, blind spot monitors, back up camera. Heated/ventilated front seats, heated rear seats. It just keeps going but your looking at $5g's extra just because I want leather.

I got lucky lol. I had winters for my audi and so when it was traded off. The winters were the correct size to fit on the Jetta.

VW had a special edition Tiguan that looked pretty nice, didn't come with leather but had other options I liked. and was around $30k before tax but when I started looking for actual vehicles on lots, they all had another $5k + in options.

That new Tiguan sounds nice, lighter vehicle with the new platform, a little bit bigger for the extra row of seats and the 2.0 Turbo is getting better mileage. I think they had a preview of it on that Driving show, might be able to find it online. http://www.drivingtelevision.com/?s=tiguan looks like it is the 2018

Since I have those Jetta snow tires, I want my next new/used vehicle to be a VW, maybe a Tiguan or a Golf 4dr or SportWagon. I went from a hatch back to a trunk and miss the hatchback.

I hear ya, I'm 30 almost 31 and i have my fair share of regrets.

I made a ton of mistakes. I don't regret any of them because without them I wouldn't be who I am today. You can't change yesterday but you can change tomorrow.

Want leather & manual option?

Find a good used BMW X5 triptronic.
In 2009 for $17,000 bought a 2003 4.6L & no problems yet.
Even got a set of 18" BMW rims & snows tossed in.

I would get a Touareg Diesel but $60g's.
It pains me to look at gas mileage in SUV's. I get 55mpg+ in both my jetta and cruze. Even my audi A4 which I did engine work too which made it more like an S4 was 45mpg on the highway. It did 0-60 in 5.6s and 4 wheel drive. Now the 1.6T in the tucson gets 34 or something.

My first car was a Golf VR6. Wish I never got rid of it either.

I like to have Warranty. A friend had an X3 with the 2.0L twin scroll turbo where the engine shut off at stop lights to save fuel. Don't have any of the big car company dealerships in Brandon though. Not even a mitsubishi.

I really have considered a truck because you can cover the back and pull a trailer or something in the future but it will be the car my fiancee drives most of the time and I will use the Jetta for work. I may go test drive one for fun though haha.
