Yeah I won't go domestic ever again. I kind of wish Lexus wasn't so expensive. Wouldn't mind one of them.

Yeah, luxury brands. Father in law drives a lexus and it's nearly 20 years old now. For some reason he won't get a new one (which he can easily afford) because he's so attached to his old one.

They usually go prius because they're dirt cheap to operate. I asked a driver in Vancouver what fuel cost him on a typical Friday and he said $7.

What I really like about my Toyota is that I never worry about it when I take it for a long drive. If you do your regular maintenance it runs forever. Something like 95% of 4Runners are still on the road 20 years later.

A friend has a 05 Matrix with 340K on it, synthetic oil since day 1.

Yes there seems to be a large population of cougars on the island....not to mention the mountain lions.....they mount anything and are always lying about the age...

Actually was looking at the '16s today and I see there is no more Vtec just the turbo version now? I like pretty much everything on the car except the back end…man is it ugly. Those sideways < > taillights are just atrocious…even the salesman was shaking his head.

Vtec was always an embarrassment imo. http://blog.caranddriver....s-non-turbo-fuel-economy/
I won't drive a vehicle without a turbo.

I would agree that the in town mileage on the Vtecs is brutal but embarrassment? A bit harsh. But the hwy miles Vtec to the turbo is too close to measure. I get over 800kms pre 50 litre tank on the HWY with my 08 and that's plenty for me and my travelling. And with a little tweaking the Vtecs perform very well. I have had turbos on vehicles in the past and have had nothing but trouble and they cost a small fortune to fix so I will let Honda work the kinks out first and straighten out that god-awful looking back end. They put turbos on the F1 cars and now they suck ass I see next year they are finally going to a lower F1 car with wider treads and wings with more downforce…they have almost been unwatchable with the turbos on them but are getting better. The added width/tires/rear wing and downforce will be a welcome item next year.

But I am looking at a Subaru Impreza STI in the near future. To me that is one of the best overall cars on the market.

Problem with the vtec was you need to be revving so high, where a turbo should kick in way earlier. Torque should be higher then HP.
I have no idea about F1 cars. Turbo's do have to be taken care of properly. Allowed to cool after a hard go and such.
If your buying a used Impreza don't get the sti. Just chip it and add in a air intake and such. STI rattles. Go Mitsubishi evo I heard.

My Audi A4 had 170 hp and 185 torque. I put in a stage 1 chip, larger fuel injectors, air intake and turbo inlet hose for $2200 and I got it up to 250 hp and 295 torque. Pretty much the same as the S4 model but the S4 was 8 grand more.

Yeah I watched 1 period of the first game. A lot of the players seem to be off the u-18 team that got spanked by team USA. USA is catching up. Or going through a purple patch.

Yeah I have heard that and have been researching a bit. good advice. True the Vtec doesn't really take effect until 5-6000 rpm but it sure is nice when it does. Reminds me of the old 2 stroke 500cc motorcycles from the 80's with their power bands…such torque. I'm just not sure I want to risk turbos again with the potential cost of maintenance.

Not a huge fan of the look of the Mitsubishis…the new Imprezzas look much better to me. But it's to each their own.

There's a 14 Q5 a car salesman friend has. I think it's just a tad small for truck space. RDX is the oneI want. It is just a bit more then I want to spend on a new one though and No acura dealership in Brandon unless honda will order me one.
- manvanfan

Pretty sure q5 is bigger trunk than Rdx.

We bought a Thule box, so for road trips it works perfect. Only time we really need the extra space.

100k on my wife's jetta wagon, suspension, leaky sunroof, abs module, thermostat, on and on.

I lease, so new car every year. Audi BMW vw etc are fine to lease, but after 4 years they go to poop.
If I was going long term, Acura or Toyota all the way.
