My summer assumptions didn't have you and Donna becoming vegans. - A_SteamingLombardi
I can't speak for Donna but I've gone gluten-free as well.
Will we see you at the drum circle tonight? |

No drumming for me, I have friends from Japan in town.
PS. gluten-free causes cancer and leaf cheering. |

Benning says he is still looking for one more piece.
Virtanen could be a Canuck or Comet. They will decide what is best for him.
Competition at D with Larsen Tryamkin Biega Sbisa.
Eriksson still us not reported to Vancouver , his wife just had a baby should be here in September |

I like the competition we have for D.
top 4 is a lock.
5-8 could be anyone between Larsen Tryamkin (hopefully they secure 5-6) and followed by Sbisa, Pedan, Biega.
I think Sbisa is moved for that forward piece that JB is looking for and thereby creates some more competition for that LW spot.
I would be pleased if we could send JV to Utica to start the season. Injuries will happen and it would be nice to call him up without having to worry 'bout waivers. |

The circumstances to send JV to Utica would be a bad sign most likely. As the roster sits i don't see it happening. If JV got off to a great start to boost his confidence would be better for him. At his age he needs to understand the pro game passes by ppl but at 19 he is still a kid. Important years for him to mature & with the vets to guide him we will see what progress he has made. |

Benning also said they have filled the void of young players on the team and does not expect to be trading more draft picks unless it's a very special trade. |

Exactly. If he had been able to, he would have spent most of last year with Utica and we wouldn't even be having this debate.
No big deal if he plays with pro's in Utica. |

Im hoping for a trade like that so that Eriksson can stay with the Sedins and that other top 6 LW can play on line 2 to balance it out. If Virtanen had a good training summer though id rather he get a chance with the Sedins rather then Hansen |

Yeah a few here got sand in their panties. He had to fill a gap left . He did it now we can follow standard protocol |

Sibsa + Grenier to Detroit for Abdelkader.
Detroit could use a youngish D, are tight against teh cap and could afford to move Abdelkader having signed Vanek. |

Yes pretty much. The true work & progress is yet to be seen with this season showing us where we stand. Players like JV Etem Gaunce & Tree need to take the next step. |

I don't have any expectations for Tryamkim or JV to take big strides this year. If they do, i'll be pleasantly surprised.
Players like Gaune and Etem are in 'make or break' situations, but JV and Tryamkin have more rope given age, games played, etc. |

They {Henrik and Daniel) are two smart players. It was easier for me when I first played with them (world championships) to get chemistry with them because we kind of played the same way. We like to give the puck and get it back from each other. I spoke to Daniel about Vancouver earlier in the week. - Loui Eriksson
We got some versatility. It will be up to the coaching staff to find the right fit. - Jim Benning
Really Jim? There is an opportunity to have at least one dynamic line on our team and he's going to leave it up to WD who they've already had a "talk" with.
Oh bother. |

Watching Canada/Sweden atm. Marner does not impress me much.
Looks like 2yrs minimum away from the NHL IMO. Kid might be offensively gifted but does not automatically make him an NHLer. His size concerns me & he is not exactly lightning fast. |

I thought the leafs drafted Marner. Did the canucks trade for him?

Detroit like Abdekeder . It would cost more than Grenier Sbisa.
Sbisa at this point has the same trade value as Ballard. People have got to let go that he can be the main focus of a deal. |

Exactly, id think he'd be part of a deal more or less to clear some cap space, or even Dorsett |

Mind your business then. I can handle my own.
With 2-3 Leaf blogs i doubt they care to be here. |
