The voice of reason. I have found a nice Pinot that you can taste the grapes on the first sip of every sip. I am happy and it's only 16.00

My wife and I got married in Napa a couple of years ago and we just finished the last bottle we brought back with us.

When guys are laid off I don't take extra work. Right now they're short, so I go balls to the wall. I'll take a few days together here or there, and still have a few weeks vacation left. It's pretty hard sometimes to say no when they offer you $1300 to ride a train for 7 hours, sleep on the road for 8, then ride a train for another 7.

Well...I'm a teacher and I have two months called July and August off to get my brain back on track, let alone talk wine and hockey!

WTF is he renting for?

My biggest regret financially in life is not buying at Pacific & Davie nearly 20 years ago when they were building and I could have bought for much less than $200K.

My wife and I bought our place just before things went crazy. Now we want to sell it and get the (frank) out of Vancouver. It took me 45 minutes to drive from 1st to Hastings on Boundary today. That's not an acceptable use of time.

Let me preface this by saying I really love Vancouver, and miss it all the time.

I moved to the maritimes awhile back, what a (frank)ing place. If you can handle heavy snow in the winter, real estate is dirt cheap. You get 4 bed 4 bath modern homes on the ocean with a private beach for less than $500K. You can get just a base house maybe 4 beds 1 bath for quite a bit less than $200K. Warmest salt water north of the Carolinas.

I love a good Pinot. The gentle 'ball-cupper' of reds.

Our anniversary is in June, this was just us finishing off that last of our wedding haul. It's actually a sad day. Thanks though

Big difference.

You have a kid and wife to worry about. My wife and me are ready to retire. When I was like you guys , you do what it takes. Different .

It is easy for me to support co-workers because I can retire and not have to worry about supporting a 4 yr old. You need to go through 20 more years. So you win.

I love Vancouver, and I'll miss a hundred different things about it when we leave. But we don't want to raise our kid here.

She can be my sugar momma.

Oh, well you can do that most anywhere. Although the season in the lower mainland is longer than most. Roofs here get destroyed pretty good by the weather, although i'd think top dollar is out west.

Send me a PM sometime and i can do some research on the market this way for ya if you want.

I try to. The 2 year old wants to cuddle all the time, and I soak it in. The 7 year old is turning into a bright young lady. I'm helping her learn french. One of the reasons I'm working so much now is so I can take it easier later on when school is back on.

A good Pinot is amazing, but they can be hard to find if you're going in blind. I think I'm disappointed by Pinot Noir more than any other varietal. It's not necessarily a price thing, there's some good bottles for reasonable, it's more like a needle in the haystack kind of thing. If you've found one you like, keep returning to that well.

I can totally relate, I'm not much of a beer drinker but wine varieties are phenomenal, if you are looking for a really good consistent pinot noir, there's really only 3 areas in the world that do that....France, New Zealand and Oregon.

It's pretty much year round down here but I'm not sure how much longer I'll be doing
It for. It's good pay but hard work of the back breaking variety. I do have a degree that I could dust off.

We were thinking of settling in the Okanagan but who knows, maybe we can keep going east.

The Okanagan should be making good ones, they have the climate for it, but I haven't found any that have knocked my socks off.

It's still a beautiful city, gorgeous even, but it has gotten pretty ugly too.
