I think we're contenders, don't think we're favorites. Each team has it's pros and cons. I don't buy the NJ/NYR talk. I think Chicago is lower than a lot say since he turned down Nashville too. Toronto has better wingers in the pipeline so no guaranteed spot. Boston has a spot for him and is home but they're not exactly shooting up the standings. Buffalo is a good spot but might not be where he wants to play/live.

I say it's still Boston but I wouldn't be surprised in Chicago.

It certainly isn't the end of the world, but having watched a number of Ducks games the kid does have some real skill. The D-zone is the weakness like you said, but he is a talented player methinks. I thought he would have fit in well here.

From what I've seen Fowler isn't some liability in his own zone. I still would like him, especially for a player that has completely fallen out of favor for me in Girgensons. If I can trade a 3rd line player for a 2nd pairing defenseman I do that.

That being said, it's not that big of a deal. The defense is fine where it is. It won't carry you to a cup but it's not going to kill the team either.

I mean they just lost a DE so they had to replace him with someone. I'm not going to say I know the NFL FA pool but you have so many players in all 32 training camps that the pickings can't be that great.

When teams start making cuts we can try to replace him there but for now it's a body at practice that they've already worked out.

Yeah, I'd still rather have a guy who wants to play. You don't quit halfway through the season because you're sad. Besides, it's not like we cut him after the injury to IK. You can't predict injuries like that.
