Jake Guentzle would look great in Pittsburgh on a line with Crosby if you're gonna win lay that game. Jake and Dom are going to light the AHL up. |

I'm basing my opinion on a few shifts I saw Crosby play with Ennis for team Canadá a few years ago. Ennis' style matches well. |

how is it a truth that obama welcoming stanley cup champions to the white house is a curse? also the statment can't really be true since you can't really prove bad luck was affected by anything |

Ok serious question.
What are we doing for a back up till Muzza gets back?
2nd: would we try & blood Jarry through the period as the back up, by giving him more starts than a normal back up would get just to see how he goes in the bigs?
Before they make a decision on the G, I really think they need to know how good Jarry is at this stage, & whether or not they trade Muzza & keep Jarry as the back up. It will hinder his development due to him not playing but how will they decide who to keep otherwise??? |

This doesn't even make sense. You're saying a trip to the White House with Obama in power is a curse...meanwhile Chicago won two cups after visiting him there and LA won another after visiting him there.
As for lying...I stated facts...are you still awake from last night on drugs or some sh!t? |

Speed and skill don't care how much experience you have eh....Isn't that what everyone said about the Oilers for the last decade? I swear all these clown writers on this site are going to be eating crow when the Leafs finish 30th. Anyone take in that starting line-up display last night in Montreal? This team has no depth, no real defensive D, and Colin Greening is in their top 9. Love the playoff projections though HockeyBuzz! Keep swinging |

Was really hoping to see 9 games of him playing up.

Speaking of kuni... let's salary dump him for yak |

Doesn't work that way. Guentzel is a pro so his ELC is activated this season regardless of where he plays. There's no such thing as a 9 game tryout for professional athletes. |

Forgot about that. Still figured he'd beat sheary out but oh well. This year should be fun to watch |

We can stand to wait and Guentzel can stand to get some professional hockey under his belt and develop more before being a full time NHL guy. As much as I would have (frank)ing loved to see him on Malkin's left, I think this was the right move and I am positive we will see him again at somepoint this season. |

Is that going to be as reliable as your prediction that they would combine for at least 1 goal in the 1st preseason game?

I think the Leafs have 1 more year of tanking before they make a legitimate offer to succeed. So I'd be putting them last with the Sabres in front of them.
Can someone tell me why all of a sudden Detroit are no longer the organisational darlings they have been - remember, the model everyone wanted to follow with their insane prospect depth & well oiled team ready to take the next step? Where are all those prospects that everyone wanted?? Why have they now just been brushed aside? I realise they haven't won anything in the very recent years but still.......
If Tampa don't win this year they are goorn!! They should already have a cup with the team they have, & now they are needing to dismantle it to keep players - I think it may already be too late but that's just moi! They have peaked already, & are now regressing. Heard it here first folks. - Aussiepenguin
I think Detroit should be a cautionary tell for the Pens and the belief that you can rebuild on the fly and transition from an elite core while staying competitive, it just doesn't work. In theory it sounds great to keep building for the future while trying to maximize the window you have with an elite core but it's just not realistic to replace elite talent without getting it in the top end of the draft and you can't get into the top end of the draft while being competitive and making the playoffs. Detroit has been able to find some nice gems like Larkin, Nyqvist & Mantha but they are still nothing more than high end complementary players and aren't the type of players you build the foundation of a dynasty on. Detroit's playoff streak is very impressive but they're farther away from being a true contender every year and that won't change until they bottom out and snag a few foundation players to replace the foundation players they lost in Lindstrom, Datsyuk and soon Zetterberg. Here's to hoping the Pens don't make that same mistake.

I'm still waiting for RW or anyone else to offer even a shred of proof that experience is overrated. I was told time and time again that Team NA was going to be the proof that things like experience, faceoff ability and intangibles didn't matter and that speed and skill would always win out but Team Europe somehow made the finals and Team NA didn't even make the semis.
