Most of the excitement died down after Eichel went down yesterday. I'm going to the game tonight, and I'm not gonna lie, knowing he's not playing makes it a bit less intriguing. He's one of those players that puts you on the edge of your seat when he has the puck.

I'm not saying we won't survive without him, but there's an excitement level that this team is missing without him.

Lehner will stand on his head. The improved D will play to 10-12th best GAA in the league.

Until December, at least, we will play a lot of 2-1 and 1-0 games, and win more than we lose.

It was a freak accident. It sucks. I bet nobody feels worse about this than he does though. I'm sure this isn't how he wanted to start the season either.

It sucks that it's Eichel, but lucky for us, it's the deepest position on our roster, so "filling" that void is a bit easier. (not that you can really replace a guy like Eichel)

It's funny how just a few years ago our weakest position was center and now it's the complete opposite.

I love the idea of Jack and Sam being together out there, and Sam is nowhere near as flashy of a player as Jack, but he's got a lot of talent all on his own. Should be interesting to see how he does at C instead of on the wing for a bit.
