Oreilly, Girgensons, and Larsson is hilariously not "deep" at the center position.

Do you think I'm enjoying the fact that I get to go to the game tonight and DON'T get to see Eichel out there? Absolutely not. But crying about it isn't going to change that fact. It's that simple. So I choose not to do that.

It sucks. But it could have been MUCH worse. Maybe you only like to look at the negative, I'm not that type of person.

It sucked for sure yesterday. I was all excited at the office we were all talking about how hockey was starting (the joys of working at an ice rink) and then we get the news that Eichel got hurt.

There was a few knee jerk reactions and texts like to my wife that we should cancel the NHL ticket, and then the realization that it is still hockey season and that this team should still be better than last years team even without Eichel.

Lehner could be a veznia goalie for all that we know, or he could go on a Miller type Olympic year stretch until Eichel gets back and then who knows.

There are so many variables here but that's why they play the games. I am excited that the season is starting, maybe not as super excited as I was at 10 am yesterday but still THE SEASON STARTS TONIGHT. How can anyone not be excited or not want to watch?

People seem to have this "Next man up mentality" when the next man up is a prototypical 3rd line center.

Im excited for the season to start, but I am beyond bummed that the season has not started yet and we have to deal with our best winger and best center not playing already.

what about the positive being at least we arent putting foligno in for him. at least we have a natural center to move up to center instead of converting a winger

He could have been out for the year. Instead he's out for prob 6-8 weeks. Would I prefer it didn't happen at all? Absolutely. But life doesn't work that way. poop happens that you don't like at times. Just gotta pick yourself up, dust yourself off and move on.

I said yesterday, it's a poop sandwich. I stand by that. Nothing we say or do is going to change that. But we still have a whole team of players that we can cheer for, so that's what I'm going to do.
