I don't like the idea of complaining about bias, but I am at a loss for the absolving of every non-Flyer for even more egregious and malicious hits. Virtanen straight throws a guy's head into the glass, Justin Williams performs a wrestling takedown, Shaw gets suspended preseason games and responds by immediately purposefully slew footing someone late...he gets a "teaching moment" punishment. Not to mention the at least 3 awful suspension worthy hits against Flyers last year which had no punishment.

That costs you a lot more. They'd ask for Gostisbehere or Provorov.

That's true, and I agree with that, but there is also the future to think about. Having a surplus of quality wingers can be used to make a separate deal, to fill a need. Honestly, I don't see LA giving up Tiffoli for a rental goaltender.

So, with Weise getting suspended probably, there's litirilly a 100% chance VDV stays in some more.

I don't think it matters. If Raffl doesn't get hurt and Schenn comes back, the penalty killing specialist Chris Vandevelde who 29 different teams are breaking down the door for would stay in over Nick Cousins due to Cousins not being a special teams guy. I think the press box is the home of Cousins and number 13. I think the writing was on the wall even before Schenn's return.

The question was answered when it was asked why Couturier wasn't on the PK as much as he should be. Bottom six forwards have PK value to Hakstol. Vandevelde is apart of that whether we like it or not.
