I'd think those are his games. Neuvy versus Montreal and Carolina sounds about right.
Tonight will be interesting. Montreal has the least goals allowed so far this year. Even with Montoya they've been stingy. |

Just want clarification.....There is no way Manning comes out of the lineup when Gudas returns. Correct? |

I wouldn't especially since he was with Provorov at the end of Saturday night's game. |

That. And I was thinking he has probably been there best defenseman so far. If I was picking it would be Schultz. But that's me. |

I actually might sit Provorov one game soon. The break might help him.
But my choice would be Streit. He's been pretty bad so far. |

In all honesty, just based on the eye test, it would have to be Streit for me. He just hasn't really done much well so far (still early). But I don't think Gudas and Streit play the same role, so it's probably either Schultz or AMac. If Streit keeps playing the same for another 1-2 weeks, then MDZ could take his spot.
Can we throw some goalie pads on Streit and trade him to LA? |

I'd still sit Streit. We can put Read/Mac/Manning on the PP point in his place.
Provorov may get a game break soon like Calgary is doing with Tkachuk. |

I think Gudas might be better than Streit right now at creating offense. |

Pretty much anytime rioting happens, I think of Kay from Men In Black. "A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it."
Why people cannot behave like decent people in large groups is something I will never understand. When my favorite teams wins, I'm happy, not prone to mindless destruction of property. - jmatchett383
Just wait until the Flyers win the Cup in your lifetime. You will go bonkers. |

If the Flyers do win a Stanley Cup in my lifetime, I will be going bonkers at (most likely) my house or a friends house, somewhere I will not be breaking stuff (purposefully). If I am at the game where they win it, I will be using public transportation to get home, or waiting until the crowds have dissipated to drive my car home. |

In Del Zotto and Gudas' return, I'm hoping Schultz and Mac sit. I think if you ice a top 6 of Del Zotto, Provorov, Streit, Ghost, Manning and Gudas, you get a balanced mix of puck movement, physicality and balance in all three zones we should be pleased with. Schultz and MacDonald both look like they have no business in the offensive zone and Mac trying to be the defensive ankor to Ghost looks like a goal waiting to happen most shifts. |

To my eyes, Schultz has performed his duties (block shots, not be a general liability) better than Streit has (generate offense, limit your liability) so far in this early season. I'm no fan of Schultz, but Streit has not generated enough offense to make up for some of his defensive gaffes. I know Streit won't sit due to his veteran presence and because, frankly, he needs to play to either drive his trade value or so that he can round into form. However, were this the lineup going into the playoffs, I'd have him on the bench.
Yes, Schultz is not going to five you much offense. But to date this year, Streit hasn't given you much either. Maybe marginally more. For my money, given that, I'll take the more sound defensive player.
As for AMac, yeah, he's probably the odd man out once MDZ returns. |

Just a general take on Streit:
I don't remember who it was on here, but someone was asked what they thought of the Streit deal. Their answer was that you'd have to ask them every year, because the first 2 years and last 2 years would likely not yield the same answer. I feel the same way. The first year, and the majority of the second year, he did a fairly good job of supplying some much-needed offense from the back end. The better part of last year, even before his injury, and this year to date, he has been lacking. I hope he's healthy and just hit a bump, but he has just not looked good this year, at all. |

Last year to this point of the season Streit led the team in points before getting hurt. I don't think he sits because he replaced ghost on the top pp for sometime there. |

He may have lead them in points, yes, but that was basically being the tallest midget. MDZ was given a more two-way role, Ghost and AMac were in the AHL, and he main competition was Manning and Gudas. But even more so, it's just his general play. He's never been fast, but now he looks even slower, his defensive reads are just flat-out bad, and he puck-moving skills, while still there at times, are not nearly what they were two years ago.
I'm not writing him off completely, but to date, he has been (in my eyes) the weakest link on defense, even more than Provorov and my personal whipping boy, Schultz. |

For me, it's not a question of how good or bad Schultz has been more but more so who has been better or what role they play and the importance to the team. Ghost and Provorov are young so you want them to play through everything. Manning has stood out. Del Zotto and Gudas need to see games in their return. I think there is something to respected leaders who wear letters. |

To me, I think Schultz brings more to the team that Streit. I get his respect and leadership. But if you can't be a net positive on the ice, then it's not enough. I think Schultz is a better on-ice positive than Streit. That's where it counts the most. If you disagree, then that's fine. Just how I see it. |

I have no problem with any of this. I just think there is favoritism on the team, hints Chris Vandevelde. |
