Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks snap slump vs. Rangers, likely to stay the course for now The Vancouver Canucks ended their long losing streak in fine form on Tuesday night, as Loui Eriksson, Alex Burrows and Sven Baertschi all got their first goals of the season in a 5-3 win over the New York Rangers.

Thanks Carol. I was speaking to someone this weekend who knows JV personally, and his comment was that JV is upset with management, feeling that he needs to be on a top 2 line to succeed. It's starting to feel like Cody H all over again.

Crash the net, crash the goalie, score goals. win games. Rinse and repeat.

I have a feeling he is going to be Tanev JV for Trouba

What is sent our way with Trouba? Tanev would be pretty close to 1 for 1 with Trouba.

I'm thinking that too - but the idea of giving up a power forward after a few years just brings memories of Neely, Bertuzzi, Leclair, Shanahan, and one of my all time favourites - Iginla. It just takes time for the majority of these guys. They cannot all be Ovechkin and Gary Roberts right away....

I don't think trouba will go to a Canadian team ....although after last night he might just want to stay in Winnipeg

I agree , but as long as WD is here his chances of improving are slim. He is greeter of the press box right now

I wonder if a position similar to Tippet in Arizona would be enough to intrigue Kreuger back to the NHL. I really dont think he would (nor do I think WD's job is in danger this year), but if he really wants back into hockey, the extra power might be enough to do so

I highly doubt a rookie GM of a terrible team is going to hire his next replacement as his head coach.

Remember if Benning fires WD Canucks are still a bad team and that bullseye moves onto JB and TL's back.

Would need to get more coming back. Lowry or Petan being the obvious choices IMO but even then I don't know if I like it.

I would prefer two separate trades if they are moving Tanev and Virtanen most likely.

Tanev, Hansen for Trouba and Lowry

Virtanen, Baertschi and Clb 2nd for Jenner and Gagner

Sedin Sedin Eriksson
Jenner Horvat Gagner
Granlund Sutter Lowry
Burrows Gaunce Dorsett

Edler Trouba
Tryamkin Gudbranson
Hutton Stecher

Rebuild over

Yup, more reason to expect WD to stay for a while longer.

I dont think WD gets fired, because the roster has been inadequate for the past 12-18 months, but youre right about the target transfer.

BUT I dont agree that Kreuger would be JB's potential replacement even if hired, he has coached and done some scouting but not been a GM. I just think giving him the power or influence with JB to find players that he wants to coach would be more enticing than giving him a job where he is at the mercy of whatever the GM provides.

Highly unlikely for both, but was responding to Carol's idea on what it would take for Kreuger to leave Southampton FC

Didn't Gagner sign a 1 year deal?

Essentially it would be Virtanen + Baertschi + 2nd round pick for Jenner?
