So what's the consensus on Hansen's injury probably the full 6 weeks so does JB wait this out or make a trade now to fill gaps? - LordHumungous
Utica is for filling gaps any trade should be bringing us draft picks. If Benning made a trade that took us out of the bottom 5 I would be pissed. |

Thing is trying to trade them as a pair to a contender is obviously twice as hard when it comes to the cap. Next year might be easier because it's their last year remaining. |

exactly. I think his value is high, so he's ideal to trade. But I've really come to like him over the last few years, great work ethic and character guy. |

As most know it's pretty much a done deal they retire Canucks ...but if ...if they decide they might want to go for a cup abd allow a trade is it not a possibility to retain salary and take on a bad short term contract for cap implications and then get some good picks or prospects too ?

Doesn't get enough credit that was legendary.... took a late heavy hit and first to jump in with a broken rib to defend Danny on Kadri dirty hit... wow. Can you imagine the play and hype it would get if this was a Leaf or North American player? |

I really like Hansen as well. It's just too bad that he's got the aim of a Storm Trooper |

I don't think whatever we'd get back for him would really be worth it. Imagine we get a 2nd rounder and the pick doesn't turn out. Wouldn't feel so great about losing him, I say his value is here and let him stick around. Great mentor/role model |

Eventually owners, management and fans are going to have to embrace a re-build. |

I don't think Hansen is the make it or break it piece that determines if we're rebuilding |

What do you honestly think he is worth to another team? Unless we are getting a 1st rounder or a top prospect back I wouldn't trade him. |

Sedins control their destiny. Do they give you any indication ever they would want a trade or play anywhere else?
They believe no matter what level they play at they have something to offer to the Canucks rebuild. They are too inviested in the community with their families. Plus want to be a part of development of the next leaders of the team and turnaround.
Though maybe ....and this is a big if... end of contract deadline a Cup contender throws a package for trade that can't be overlooked and they do it for the Canucks plus chance to end with a ring. |

He's got an excellent contract and has proven he can play up and down the lineup. I think you are underestimating his value given salary issues out there with top teams IMO. |

Then trade him next year. I don't want him re-signed to a Burrows deal at 32, so we have to get something for him. He has greater value on his current contract. |

They are in a rtrouble build... but it's not a tear down...at least to the point there isn't much left to throw away or trade for the rebuild.
They have issues of wanting to be competitive for development and keep hope alive.... but TL said hey we won't ever say we won't try for the play offs it doesn't mean that this team is in transition or is a contender. He recognized the short comings and that it will take time through the draft and development of existing youth.
What should they state...? We are a team that will finish deadlast embrace the pain for however long it lasts? |

I really hope the reason we are seeing a lot of Miller is to show he can still compete and trade him to a team with shaky goaltending thats on the fringe. |

Agree trading him just to trade him isn't worth it. The return needs to be significant. Canucks only have him and Tanev left for any real value and so can't just give them away. |

It's not who you trade it's who you sign as UFAs and re-sign.
As for TL he's (frank)ing lying to keep seats filled.
As for what they should say, I don't care because if they keep lying I'll stop listening all together. |

He's still number one on this team. Who's made any offers for him anyway...? Goalie market being what it is what do you expect he would get Canucks...?
Even Kings are not desperate or made any moves. Send sent like nads for their situation. Realistically with Millers' age and Cap hit what's the going to get? If this team is in the basement with no hope come TDL they may be more active if there is any buyers out there. |
