Really impressed with Tryamkin
- VANTEL

He's playing "don't think about scratching me again" kind of hockey. Maybe sitting him worked?

I don't think the Canucks are a big draw anywhere now.

Hutton has been been the opposite of impressive this year. The whole team has been bad, but he's been walked around and burned several times this year

He's got to be moved out of the top-4.

A trade that could work with a team that wants to push for a spot is with NYI, Sedins with 50% retained for Anders Lee (3.75) and Josh Bailey (3.3) then throw in Barzal

That is actually a pretty fair deal straight up. I think Barzal is maybe a little steep. Lee and Bailey are pretty young and at reasonable contracts.

I was looking at that prospect list by sportsnet and got to number 10. Realized I didn't need to go any further, and probably could have stopped at 5.

That is that poop straight from the horse's behind my good man. Ristolinen, Grigorenko, Zadorov, Rienhardt, Eichel... You build assets, then you have assets to trade/build around. Grigs and Zadorov landed them O'Rielly who is one of the best(and underrated) young centers in the league (hence him making team Canada). All top-ten picks. Am I saying no other draft picks can pan out? no. of course not, that's just silly. But top-5 and top-10 is where the valued players are, the most sure-fire, blue chips. Trading to be a bubble team at this point is a joke. A bad joke. Canucks in the playoffs this year would be even more embarassing than when we lost to Calgary... and that stung.
- neem55

You missed the point .... on trades .... as long as they don't trade away draft picks or youth then do it. Who said trade to make playoffs ...? As for improving team that's part of rebuild. While there is a bottom for this team like deadlast .... the top is unknown .. players are competitive they want to win .... so if they play well and develop well they will improve. How much ....? Well that's why they play the games ...

Sedins will not be allowing any trades nor do I see JB amd TL getting the FA green light to push for that

There isn't a person on this board I've seen say trade draft picks or youth, I didn't miss the point I just didn't think it was too valid as we all think that. This debate started around Hansen getting traded to anyone for a draft pick, it seems you may have changed your tune. good. He should get traded and his value is high now, sooner the better. Miller on the other hand... going to be hard to move if he keeps playing like this.

I think he needs to get away from Gudbranson.

Edler Gudbranson
Hutton Tryamkin
Sbisa Stecher.

Why does Stecher have the most Ice time for Defensemen? He is probably the 5th best defender no matter how many shots he takes.

To me it looks like he just shoots.
Not to mention he forgot to play defence on the first goal.

He made a beautiful cross ice pass to Sven but Bae shot it right into the logo of the goalie.

He held the puck in a few times to keep the PP going.

Didn't change any tune. Hansen from last season was a valid asset to trade. Just better be a good package as he and Tanev is all we really got to play with now. Anyway can't trade him for a while he'll be out long time with injury ... so the now factor is irrelevant

Okay well he can play the third pairing and PP then.

Then he takes a penalty.

I'm not knocking the kid, i'm just saying there are other players that are currently better suited to be playing top 4 minutes.

Point on trades was in regard to comment don't make trades for play off spot. ANY trade that improves team without involving giving up youth or draft picks is a good one for a rebuilding team. So if it gets them a young guy that can score and that helps them now and in the future great ...

Its not NHL 95 by ea sports, you have to make hockey trades. Hansen for a 3rd is reasonable. for a second is wishful thinking. Tanev should have 1st round type return. I totally agree with getting value, but a good hockey trade is getting the best value at the time when you can get it. An off season Hansen move would have been ideal, for example. On or before the TDL is good. Waiting until next year is fine if the market isn't there. But they should be sellers and really aggressive. Toronto has done this exceedingly well the past few years. If we retain some salary, maybe there is a market for Sbisa. He's looked quite good this year.
