A Contending team could be looking to improve their 3rd line at TDL next year. Most contending teams have solid enough top 6, but their 3rd line can often be suspect when it comes to a long playoff. Having a 3rd line that needs to be shut down(like Pitts last year) can make the team harder to handle. Not all contenders have great 3rd lines, some are at that stage because of good goaltending, and defense more than their top 9. Look at Montreal. They would be going from contenders to favorites if they inserted the twins as their 3lw/3c for a deep playoff run. - Retinalz
THIS is probably only scenario I see twins ever leaving. END of comtract TDL with key here Canucks hopelessly out of play off contention. They get talked into by management for a trade on a temporary try for the CUP. The Canucks benefit in getting rebuild assets back like picks or prospects in junior. A Team going for it won't likely mess with depth on any level if it runs into injuries.
My point was that compared to last season, this year has been an improvement in overall performance. I think that the roster is improved, in that the younger players are better and some of the additions are better, and I also think the coaching has tweaked its strategy from last season to better suit the lineup. WD's first season as coach was a lot more high pressure (the D almost always pinched), but as the lineup has changed, he has had to in order to keep games close.
The bolded seems irrelevant to this conversation? I know the team is bad, but doesnt mean I cant appreciate the individuals, hope for an upset or enjoy the play of their opponents. I watch a game nearly every night, regardless of teams playing - WhiteLie
Totally agree on the above. Except for one thing. If team has improved then why not play the high pressure style again? Let the younger players learn to do that they have the skill set for it.
Also, I believe if fully healthy this team is better with style and deployment adjustments then what the results have been.

Well they may need DD too. Megna and Chaput could alway sit to include LABATe. Heck I'd call Pedan up and sit out Stecher. Could even bring Grenier and JV up too and have The Sedins take a flu day.

I have been an avid reader to this site for about 4 years now &only just signed up recently to post comments . Unfortunately though this site has taken a major downturn since October 12 2016.
