I still believe they have a few people in mind but can't talk to them unail season is over
- Upstate_isles

I'm sure this is true, but it's still a lousy message to send to just sit back and let the season crumble. This is not like the Isles team just before they drafted JT and you expect a lousy season.

Doing nothing shouldn't be an option at this point. Unless we are ALL wrong and Wangs' deal with them included keeping Snow and Crappy for another full year, Ledecky should can them both.

I feel another 3 to 2 loss tonight. I love tanking to be honest. This is going to be the best season in a long time. Keep losing and it is guarentee new coach and GM. That is all I want for Christmas at this point

I think they do too, but they just got handed a coach in Gallant. If you're going to make a coaching change, here it is. You're in the same conference, so he'd have a chance to stick it to his former team a couple of times. It serves as the shake up this team needs, and quite frankly, I think he's a better coach than Crappy. If it doesn't work, let him go at the end of the year. Even if they do have others in mind, how can they be sure they can bring them in? That said, who knows if they could even get Gallant, but you gotta try, right? Maybe they're contacting him now and plan on firing Crappy tonight and bringing in Gallant tomorrow.

It would be very dumb if they made that sort of deal. This Isles crash is not going to help attract GM's, coaches, or players to join this team. Ledecky needs to be proactive and show he is not just going to do nothing. He has to show this is not Wang's Isles anymore.

Good luck. I think Santa shaved his beard, lost a bunch of weight and is tanning on a beach in the Bahamas.

It seems strange that L & M are just acting like puppets right now. If I'm the owners, these clowns are fired, Gallant his hired and Lou's kid takes the interim GM tag. See what happens there while I'm making assessing who else might be available if it doesn't get better.

Why does most think Gallant will do well here without exploring other possible options? Just bc everyone wants Crappy gone cant settle on whats available just bc we crave a change. Who ever is next coach at least gets 3yrs with team.

So basically, you're saying to stick with Crappy? 2 weeks ago everybody on here was calling every game "the straw that broke camel's back" and Crappy needs to go, including you. There were questions of who's available. Well, there's your answer. Gallant is available. As I said in a previous post, bring in Gallant right now and see how the rest of the season goes while assessing all the options. If it works, it works. If it doesn't then can him at the end of the season. No one knows who will do well coaching the Isles, but we know who isn't doing well. I'm not saying that Gallant is the savior for this franchise, but I think he's a much better option than Crappy.

I think it's worth exploring at least. Gallant may not take the job if he thinks Garth is out at the end of the year and a new GM will want his own coach. If I had to guess Gallant and the Isles will not be a fit. Cappy should still be gone regardless.

Any effort to recruit Gallant should be paired with an equal effort to convince Florida that Cappy is their guy. We improve while sabotaging a competitor!

I like it, but Florida is not that crazy. If they left Gallant waiting for a taxi last night what would they do to Cappy?

Would it be fair to hire Gallant and say another Gm comes in and he gets canned again? Not a fan of Gallant but I feel this team needs an overhaul and that the Gm should go 1st and have a new Gm select his guy, doesnt help the team if we start having a coaching carousel with Garf at the helm.

This is why I think Gallant does not take the job. He might as well sit for the year and hook on with someone next year. Unless there is a team with a GM in place and not going anywhere that is looking for a new coach.

Gallant

Oh and put the purge on hold tonight gentlemen. I'll authorize the Oil to give the Isles a 2017 2nd if they utterly embarrass the Shames tonight.

Gallant fired with injuries galore and one of the best records in the league last season. Capuano remains with a healthy line up and the worst record in the league?

What? You're surprised?

Talked to Ryan Strome after skate. He was at a loss for words over his benching, which is a surprise. Most talkative player on the team.

@StapeNewsday
Even during the playoff benching last season Strome was upbeat. Sounded very unsure of his current situation.

Fantastic. This team is so hard to follow

You mean like Anaheim did with Bruce b? Hey the caps fired him and he was behind the ducks bench 5 days later also gallant changing his goalie to get a timeout was smarter move then any I've ever seen cappy make
